Why
by MM on Mar 28, 2014 10:24 AM  | Hide replies

Why did women in ancient days were kept under control? They must be some reason for that.

Women, by nature, have dominating, dictator, possessive mentality. A Daugherty-in-law can not tolerate mother-in-law (who is felt as boss siting on head) and keeps separate immediately after marriage, is best example.
By mentality, they are not suitable to be good leaders, chiefs of a firm.

Ever since girls are pampered with too much "empowerment", see what happened now. They adopted boy friend, live-in, Valentine cultures resulting in too many diverse cases and crime against women. These were not there few decades ago.

Learn from our ancestors. It is better to control tigers otherwise...

Agreed with the views of MM. Too much of empowerment & freedom to women is making them arrogant and giving them a free hand to stay nuclear with their husband & children only. They care less about there in-laws & do not want to take the responsibilities of in-laws unlike the women of 70s, 80s. There should be a balance where women can enjoy their lives as well they should take the responsibilities of others in family.

This is exactly the problem ofwomen not being selfdependant. All this MIL-DIL conflicts are manifestation of this lack of empowerment. Its because the women think that their life depends on the Male in the family that they resort to such acts. If they are self dependent and secure, the life will in fact be easier for men.

Women
by MM on Mar 28, 2014 10:12 AM  | Hide replies

In this country, women and minorities are empowered too much that lead to chaos in the society today. By nature, women, men have certain mandatory works to be done. It is better not to go against nature.

Education and wisdom are different things.
Wisdom comes with nature and natural mentality/attitude of a person. A person of lower wisdom can misuse his free-education and too much empowerment.

Ancient days, Brahmins male had higher wisdom and morals. Hence India was on top.
But if this is reversed and try to polish (empower) ineligible people too much,
that may back fire.

Women are differently wired than men by nature but otherwise all humans are wired similarly. A Brahmin cant be more wise or moral than others. Devdasi system, ND Tiwari's illegitimate child etc. are few of the lakhs of examples.
Br. Ambedkar, APJ Abdul Kalam are just one of the few examples.

You spend your energy first in checking what is happening to Indian girls in India?

Literate, not empowered
by Rajiv Shivashankar on Mar 28, 2014 09:55 AM  | Hide replies

Kerala's women, who once ruled the families in the matrilineal system of social empowerment, very often face domestic abuse and public torment for minor issues. It is very well camouflaged, but existent nonetheless. Every Keralaite outside Kerala will confirm it.

The meaning of literacy
by Navi Reyd on Mar 28, 2014 04:37 AM  | Hide replies

What is the meaning of literacy? It means that one knows how to read and write. It does not mean that one is clever, honest, efficient or hardworking.
In non-specialised fields, many non-graduates are found to be more smart than graduates. Many people in India graduate in professions for which they have no aptitude mainly for dowry and prestige.

Fine lets close down all the schools! Literacy is recognised to be an important social marker worldwide. If you want to know the real mening of this, try to correlate the female infanticide rates and the female literacy through the various states. And in Kerala, and in most parts of other southern states, women get equal share in properties. Again try correlating this as well.
Whats the problem with you guys, cant appreciate anything good if thats not from your states?

The empowerement provided by Dr Babasaheb Amberkar, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj has resulted in higher literacy in Maharashtra and even many parts of India. On the other hand, Brahminism rules over much of North India and only leads to darkness and lack of education.
