First it was Delhi and then big andolan and then we see "Shiela Dikshit" humiliated from political life ! Now its UP !! Rape is act of cowardice and MUST be dealt harshly but it seems there a systematic use of media to change the govts using this "formula". No wonder why big corporate houses now rushing to buy media houses - I think its media who chooses our govts and the ballet boxes is just an eye wash !
What is the reason for such sudden spurt in rape incidents in UP of late ? This is somewhat mystifying. Some commentators attribute it to the resurrection of the pride of Upper caste after the BJP won an unprecedented 73 seats in UP. They are seemingly endeavouring to re-assert their dominance and run their writ all over the State as they are emboldened by a friendly Government at the Centre. But, due to the new change in dynamics, UP today is caught in a social turmoil which might irreparably damage the interests of the State in the long run. Urgent steps are needed to counter the caste and religion polarisation and unite the growing schism between the Upper Caste and lower caste entities. The Samajwadi party Government should take steps to instil confidence amongst the Dalits that their interests would be safeguarded and protected and the Government will stand as their custodian.

If you read the news carefully, the accused in one of the cases was a so called DALIT and the girl was Yadav. So where the upper caste comes in picture? In another case the so called RAKSHAK (policemen)were the culprits. UP was always infamous for crimes. The only difference is that in BJP regime, nothing can be be left unreported as it was being done earlier. All rapists and murderers must be hanged irrespective of their caste, religion or position.

Are you an idiot? Have you seen report ? Every day about 50 rapes_happen in UP. Now the reporters are focusing in UP because of that hanging_in Badaun.It is no big deal in UP.
Every day,every state,there is rape in India.Unless government shows some spine and hang atleast 1 rapist_in each state in a very short notice,this situation will not change.

Unless and until we change the legal system this will go on continuing. Lower court gives death sentence. Finally when the case goes to Supreme Court the case will be stayed for indefinite period. How many rapist were hanged till to-day except Dhananjay of Calcutta. That too due to the intervention of ex CM's wife.

Correct. But many had doubts whether poor Dhananjoy was really guilty or not. He already served almost 15 years in Jail. However,Ex CM's weeping was a mere gimmick and nother more.
