Devayani has shown we Indians that how negligent IFS officer can be and still seek sympathy from we Indians. Her father shown, how influence can work by upgrading his mediocre daughter to such high ranking position using dalit card. Why all of us ignore that Indian Govt has not given visa to its officers to break laws. US Govt. has shown how to take action against law breakers and our Govt. go on protecting such negligent, incapable and careless law breakers. Hope Indian Govt. learn lesson how to take action against law breakers rather than beating truimpet that US has taken India for ride. If our attitude towards our corrupt, incapable, undeserving officials is like this, I am sorry to say we deserve such treatment from overseas countries. Hope Indian Govt. learn lesson and take strict action against its erring officials without bring in between caste politics and influence of corrupt politicians. Needless to say Govt. of Maharashtra also should start investigation of how flat of Meera Society sold (this luxurious flat was allotted in Society for which concessional land was given and commercial establishments were permitted in society to finance the flats to all the officials), how Adarsh Society flat acquired. Its SHAME ON DEVYANI TO BREAK LAWS OF US, SHAME ON HER IN TAKING FLAT MEANT FOR KARGIL WARRIORS, SHAME ON HER IN SELLING FLAT ALLOTTED TO HER FOR MAKING MONEY...... REALLY SHAMEFUL STORY.. I fully agree with this comment.A corrupt Govt officer having at least 5 expensive properties in India at an age of 39 years and being a daughter of another similar type of Govt.official nevertheless deserves this treatment for her grave fraudlent misconduct (at least in U S standard).I however disapprove the strip search.She is supposedly to represent our Nation by virtue of her Position and her act tarnishes the image of the few real honest officers of our great India.

Why has the Indian govt. not initiated action against Devyani and her father on the proof of them owning a flat in the Adarsh society illegally and some other assets that do not appear to be above board?. Also, the claim by her father of being very close to the home minister Shinde and other top brass of the ruling congress calls for a probe too in this as well as other acts of commission and commission by the daughter and father duo. Why this double standard then?
