It looks like the author lacks spine and expects all Indians not to have it as well. India had enough chances to settle Kashmir dispute, the chances which the successive governments lost on their whims and fancies of us being a large hearted country of Gandhi and Buddha. The arguments of Pakistan claiming defies any logic, be in legal, moral or practical point of view. drawing bountadies on the basis of religion has not benefited anybody including Pakistan and furthering this failed experiment threatens the very ideals on which India or any modern secular democracy is built. India has the military might and moral right to keep Kashmir and Pakistan has to accept the fact and deal with it. there is no other solution. Its time the large hearted apologists here seas the big picture and stop crying about it, rather ..they can see what radicalization is doing to established regimes in middle east and elsewhere .
What gain do you think India reaps by following the old strategy of allowing Pakistan gov. meddle in our J&K? Why should we give credibility to Kashmiri sepratists to divide J&K from India, instead of trying to make them as irrelevance as possible? Can't u see the motive behind Pakistan supporting separatists, ceasefire voilations, militancy in J&K and questioning J&K's integrity with India in International organizations?
Sir, we all agree that RSS is driving the agenda and BJP is their proxy in the center. Can you kindly tell us what the congress government achieved in the past 67 years, towing the line of separatists and terrorists except making 400000 Kashmiris stateless in their own land? If you really believe that Pakistan is right in talking with separatists first and waging proxy wars against India, can you explain what is wrong in the RSS driven agenda (in your views)? And what did your diplomacy achieve for the Indians, except death, terror and mayhem? Instead of shedding tears for the separatists cause, can you think for one moment the sacrifice by the Indian soldiers in the Pakistan border or the police force that guard your house and family?

If that article is removed it would have broad reaching implications. It would effectively remove the 13th amendment drafted between India and Sri Lanka in the 1980's during Asia's longest war fought against the Tamil Tigers who wanted to form a separate land called Eelam in Sri Lanka. That amendment was meant to bring a peaceful end to that war. Instead the war ended by a military confrontation in 2009. Now India still holds Colombo accountable in implementing this amendment regardless of its main purpose of ending that war. It is a highly contentious issue in post war Sri Lanka
This not all a thought provoking article. In 60 days,70 times our soldiers/BSF Jawans were attaked and a few pricious human lives we have lost because of firing from the other side.Calling of talks is the right decision from Indian side of the boarder.Untill and unless firm commitment and actual proof of the compliance of the commitment comes from Pakisthan with regard to stoppage of cross boarder firing and killing of our soldiers/BSF Jawans, it would not be appropriate to start any talk with Pakisthan
