PM --PM
by Purushottam Singi on Oct 09, 2013 04:42 PM

Bharani analogy from Koduganllur fits very aptly on Mr. Ajay Maken and his ilk in all parties leaving aside the Left and BJP.
This phenomenon has creeped in for want of inner party democracy and dynastic leadership.
All these parties like SP, BSP,SAD, ML,BJD, SS etc. though professing secularism day in and day out but are castiest at their core. Leadership does not brook any dissent.
Now that we have about 40% voters from urban and semi urban Bharat, we should jettison these parties for the good of nation.
The theory of local aspiration gave rise to smaller parties , should be repudiated and voters should show maturity and understanding of higher standard.

how does it really matter, unless the writer assumes that all of us have lost it ?!

how can we, even tacitly, accept the non-responsible power of the politicians not in office? ! By calling someone a shahzada, etc. one plays into the hands of such people who want to wield such power, which they do so with ever increasing contempt. Reminiscent of how the British got more than what they expected, from a set of foolish people ever so servile and willing.

the way the elitist dismiss the aam aadmi party is also reminiscent of the very same attitudes which do not really want the change..smug and complacent in their soft spots, even if decaying

The Brilliant, Competant and canny present occupant of Rashtrapati Bhavn has been insulted and slighted on many ocassions by the first family of Congress party and by the Bharani chorus makers of the party. He was the party's trouble shooter as senior most cabinet minister and often the chairman of most GoEMs constituted under UPA Govt.

BAD SANSKRIT, BAD POLITICAL SENSE, BAD COMMON SENSE!
by Kabeer on Oct 09, 2013 03:01 PM  | Hide replies

Wonderful piece of imagination, no, hallucination and that is the right word.

You say, neither Congress nor BJP led alliances will not get majority.

And the Congress led UPA will propose Pranab Mukherjee and the BJP led NDA supports it.

or

BJP led NDA projects a life long Congressman Pranab Mukherjee and the Sonia and Rahul led COngress who interestingly according to you loathe Pranab Mukherjee but are ready to support his as PM.

Then which party's candidate would be Pranab Mukherjee, Congress or BJP or both?

Then who would be the opposition?

So you are suggesting that Pranab will leave Presidential office after one year only to accept the Prime Minister position which may not last even six months or just like Charan Singh he may not even face Parliament.

Then Pranab Mukherjee will be consigned to history as one year President and three month Prime Minister.

And you expect Pranab to be such an idiot to accept this proposal.

All the examples you gave from the US and UK are those who had taken up after completing their terms in a higher office first; not relinquishing after just one year.

Now, your sanskrit is also equally bad.

pitarau means fathers in dwivachan (in sanskrit you have singular noun, bipolar noun, and plular noun)

Kalidasa's shlok was

pitarau- two fathers

parvatipa (parvati's pati i.e. Shiva)-rameshwarau (ramaa i.e. Laxmi's ishwar i.e. Vishnu)

It is not parvati-parameshwar-au
it is parvatipa-rameshwarau

Those who have read "Profiles in courage" by John F Kennedy will know the greatness of persons like John Quincy Adams, Andrew Johnson and William Howard Taft.
