Yes. It would remain a landmark event where two of the three main players of governance in India are pitched against each other. These two being politicians and businessmen and the third, goondas, yet to enter the limelight in the case. Hold your patience. They would take entry any time now.
The second line player, media, is already in. All major public concern forgotten, a known issue being whipped up to frenzy. After all, what new has happened and what else was expected ? When a sport was hijacked to bring profits to politicians , businessmen, mafias, filmstars, and other cash fat class of India, could betting and its manipulation be left behind ? And if it has been manipulated, who has suffered? Definitely, not the public. Maybe the Government, because it has lost revenues due to money laundering and some others who did not get the jackpots they could win on their bets.
Do not know for others, but I stopped watching IPL much before the foolish son-in-law got caught, as the inconsistency in the results clearly showed that the game was being manipulated.
My congrats to clever public prosecutor who chose the offence as only a betting one. This would keep the bigger issue of loots quietly tucked away from the glare of the court. The Game, after all, must and would go on !!!!!

1. Made fundamental wrong to compare BCCI's Srinivasan with Sonia - Issues are different, why mix up sports with politics.
2. Trying to defend the indefensible Srinivasan - Unable to read the writings on the wall.
3. This article is redundant as BCCI team itself has collapsed - Thanks to those who have some respect left for the cricket fans.

by Rahul Khan on Jun 01, 2013 12:00 PM

The politicians apply different standards in Public Domain when the shoe pinches their foot.
Here are few cases of Son-in-Laws that are categorised as Eleventh Planet.
Mr. Robert Vadra- Sonia Gandhi- DLF land deals.
Mr. Sadanand Sule- Sharad Pawar- Lavasa Hill station Project.

politicians are the holy cow. businessmen are not. shouldn't the businessmen counter the politicians ? but the businessmen are mere pawns and a divided lot, just like the people but with some money. politicians have risen above all of this and there is a fierce loyalty and hierarchy. anyone who is not loyal gets thrown out - yeddyurappa, reddy brothers, eetc etc

Why

Why are they after Srinivasan .......

because

1. He is Tamil
2. He is successful
3. He refuses to share the spoils
4. He is adamant
5. His position is lucrative from both legal and illegal standpoints
6. He has no real friends in politics or Delhi
7. He will become more powerful and invincible if he survives this "storm"
8. He is cornered because of the quantum of the brouhaha manufactured by the media
9. He is a convenient scapegoat to sacrifice because of point 6

Question arise in the mind of common man is all Politician having this much interest in BCCI and IPL, irrespective of party margins. Next north Indian media mafia, Event management Groups. Why north Indian media mafia is not ready to show the histroy of rajeev shkula, what is his background nd hw he became IPL commissioner. Every saw Zee TV was caught for Jindal case. All this out cry is is to rift the BCCI ship to control of north Indian Political mafia and Media mafia, then they want to share the money.

Mr TVR Shenoy's article is hitting the nail on its head. I fail to understand why the press (TV), the so called one pillar of democracy, is also dancing to the tune of politicians. Is it not fixing of INFORMATION TO PUBLIC ? The TV media should be held accountable for such FIXED NEWS.
