It is the views of people like Ganesh Nadar that are totally detrimental to the country. Does he wish to say that till such time all those kinds of wrong doers, as specified by Nadar, are caught, the police should stop policing against other offenses? Sure, Police should be going after other criminals as well. If Ganesh Nadaris a victim of some wrong, would he still say take the culprit to a Civil Court and fine him, as the Police are yet to catch all those other people?
The Law says betting is illegal. Simple. All other arguments are frivolous so long as this Law is there.
There are reports that there is a lot of criminal money being used for betting and that the gains are used against India by people who are enemies of India. May be for a change Mr. Nadar must stop writing and start reading some News Papers!!!
Either the govt should make the betting legal, as tax revenue is much higher in betting , or Govt totally make a ban on betting, and impose major penalties/punishments on the spot fixers., so that 1 1st think atleast 10 times before betting.
It is so strange that rediff allows people who do not even understand the problem /issue to put up articles. We are talking about match fixing...the respectable author may kindly note

You are right. Additionally it is also illegal wealth being used for betting by enemies of India and the gains being used against India.
