How and when can the SC convict political leaders Gamblers
by Rajan Sodankur on May 25, 2013 05:01 PM

The party leaders gamble with crores by manipulating stock markets by announcements of withdrawing or offering support to the govt about to be toppled. Who detects, investigates and convicts such high level gamblers and fixers? If investigating agencies or govt records reach media thru leaks even before the records reach destined targets what is the guarantee or checks against ministers who can do insider trading thru their agents? Leaked news of raids or investigations are swinging the markets dangerously. If cabinet ministers and their kins can get invoved in scandals what is the detection and investigation mechanisms for high level bets and fixes?

Make betting, scolding, spitting illegal for election funds
by Rajan Sodankur on May 25, 2013 04:49 PM

Innovative methods of raising black money, election funds in near future: making these illegal and non-bailable offence - betting, scolding, chewing tobacco or pan, sneezing or belching or spitting or passing gas in public, shouting at neigbors and house maids: so that police and investigating agencies can squeeze money for themselves and their political bosses, employment scandals for recruting new hands to implement these bans, fattening lawyers purses, and for TV coverage for vieweres bored with daily saas bahu soap . And when the govt and police are over busy in these affairs let the Chinese, Pakis and even Sri Lankans and Bangladeshis to encroach or sneak into Indian territories. Bharat Nirmaan or Nirvaan Jai Ho!

Gambling

Dear A. Ganesh, all those bettings you mentioned do not contact the players to fix the game. The Govt is catching those bookies who affect the game. Cricket should be honestly played.

It is like syaing politicians should be honest and fair. Corrupt politicians grow out of votes from ignorant and illiterate voters and cricket grows just because of patronization by ignorant or ill informed cricket watchers. The day ordinary people stop waching cricket the ICCI, BCCI , and big tome players will collapse. Better are bound to bet on anything, not necessarily cricket, may be on the gender of next child of actresses or models, number of next vehical to apss by, color of tie to be wron by professor the next day ABSOLUTELY ON ANYTHING. It would be utterly either foolish or exploitative of the govt to ban betting from kids to senior citizens.Do they have large enough prison or the whole coutntry will turn out to be a large prison.

banned should stay
by Khaja Mohideen on May 25, 2013 03:21 PM

why gambling is legal in UK but illegal in India. for instance take ipl final, its going to be chennai vs mumbai and everyone knows that chennai is going to win, so a poorman who earns 5000 or 10,000 a month will be tempted to bet his salary on chennai winning the match hoping to make fast money and if chennai loses the match, he not only loses his salary but he will struggle to meet his ends. incase of a rich man it doesn't affect him, its fun for him. that's the reason for banning and a good one too.

20 20 cricket
by arungopal agarwal on May 25, 2013 03:09 PM

It is not cricket but entertainment, Horse races, lottery in India is allowed and govt. does not leave its share of taxes. Players are sold like horses only in IPL 20 20, very strict law is not needed, as this is purely entertainment.
