If such a meritious person is forced to pay bribe for promotion, then One can imagine of Indian Mangoes, who have been forced in these corrupt practices by Conggrress for decades. Now wait for another decade fr this case to be solved, when C.B.I would give clean chit to Mr. P.K.Bansal & his nephew and send the bribe giver to 5 yrs in jail for not furnishing details of source of 90 lakhs.

It is order of the date. It is sad that such a enterprising/efficient officer has to pay bribes to get promotion.Time to privatise railways. any organisation where there is govt. interference meets the same fate.

Corruption- The Root Cause
by dinesh dave on May 04, 2013 01:12 PM

Corruption Starts from the TOP. And there cannot be any denial. If in our country the president, prime minister are responsible & honest, i dare nobody can dare to be corrupt. Today nobody is scared, as they know nothing will happen to them and by the time there is justice, they will be dead.

Corruption- A Cancer

At times you are forced to become corrupt in order to survive, and one can understand that. What needs to be looked in is to the fact a man who had so many distinct credits to his name could have been forced to pay, and unfortunately get caught.
Another hard fact is if one sees the government departments today, you hardly find anybody who is not corrupt.

He may have been forced to pay, but how he got hold of such money ? Any person paying this money is collecting the same during his tenure as GM. And why he is paying ? It is an investment else why he need posting as member electrical, be happy as member staff.

This shows how our current system of govt....
by Nalin Kishore on May 04, 2013 12:49 PM

forces even well meaning and highly competent and qualified individuals to resort to unlawful means...this is clearly a case of system failure...I don't know how much blame to be passed on to him....that will be found by the enquiry which is sure to follow. Bad for bright people. Imagine such people working under the railway ministers that we had in the past...it is noteworthy that he is from IRSE, not IAS, maybe that's why he got caught !! Mera Bharat Mahaan !

The media and the people of India are like herd in the jungle which gets agitated momentarily when one of its members is grabbed and mauled and devoured by a rather stronger animals like lion tiger or panther etc. but in virtually no time they come to normalcy as though nothing had happened...similar is the congress corruption(tigers)and Indian people(herd) ...so guys be in habit now that it is routine affair and with the money power, the divided minorities and the SC ST and OBC for their vested interest and manipulative politics the same looters will come again and again into power...there will be no respite from crony capitalism, scams, corruption, leaps and bound increasing inflation.
