56 karsevaks were brutally burnt in the bogey. The situation was such that Modi or anybody in that position could not have prevented the killings. In the riot it is noticed that most of the killings are in form burning, naroda patiya , best bakery, etc. Blaming Modi is the easiest thing for sickularists to do for moz votes. But to Modi's credit he has kept the last 12 years riot free inspite provations like bomb blasts, akshardham attacks, etc. But some moz will not understand and are hard-brained.

Who said only particular religion people hate him. NM may be good but he is in BJP, which is unacceptable for majority of Hindus for its vote bank politics.

They invaded bravely and ruled the country with full honour. And convert this Chaddeeistan into heaven and called golden sparrow!
m's would be very happy with a pm modi. the people who really terrified are the pseudos because as talveen singh has observed the pseudos know that very well in their bones that a pm modi will shut down all govt waste and largesse now currently going on their pocket designed to serve the gandhi interests. you will notice m's are actually betting on and voting for modi heartily.

The article says NM may be incompetent but not involved in the crime. If he cann't control riots in tiny Gujarat, how will he control various agitations/riots in vast India?

All corrupt people and BJP politicians who feed on religion and regional tensions should be kept behind bars.
blame him for everything so that he is not in the top position, thats the agenda of other politicians.the constant blaming of him by the congress has become a pain,it may have the effect of ulta psychology on the minds of the people.anyway we need a change,so far the present govt has only harmed the people of this country

Choosing BJP over Congress is like flying from hot pan into fire. So if we need change for better, then BJP shouldn't be the choice.
The difficult traverse to broadminded Baharatiyata which Shri Modi seems to have undertaken has reached an intermediate stage. 42 percent national rating makes him a national mainstream, but this has not made him credible yet amongst those with steep tilt in their opinion about him. He remains a polarising leader. The cause for this need to be analysed in detail, for this has become not only for BJP but India as a nation.
His definition of secularism as India first has not convinced the discerning, charges of being simplistic, and even comparison to the for dictator-general in the neighborhood. His reliance of Swami Vivekananda to prove his Bharatiyata credentials does not take him far enough. Swamiji, in his writings has primarily been an extoller of religion. The purpose of this effort must work out in the course of India destiny but the seamier side of the religion can not brushed aside. Suguna chintan is undoubtedly good, but not enough.
Instead of blaming demonising US, as the author does here, the case of Shri Modi is better served by finding the boulders in the undercurrent which makes his image a polarisng one, and sustains the unease amongst the serious discerning Indian minds.

Western world has, as evident, begun making serious assessment of his leadership and taken careful systematic steps to elevate the level of discourse. When thoughtful minds, approaching from different contexts confer, it takes time to conclude.
The real issue is not visa issuance, but the viewpoints expressed within India. These are bit discomfiting still.
