See in the first picture, how the houses are built on the banks, preventing the free free flow. If you try to block a river, it will surely retaliate some day.
In these trying times of mass destruction of precious lives and property in Uttaranchal, it is sickening to see some people taking advantage of the situation by charging exorbitantly for important necessities. The government should intervene immediately and see that the situation is not exploited by unscrupulous traders.

Politics has become a business in India. It is no more a service. All these years these politicans misused the natural resources and other facilities for the benefit of their supporters and goondas whoprotect them. all the pilgrim centres have been exploited by them. when we rape the nature like this the nature will rape us back.
The day uttarakhand came into existance, every one started looting the state and specially the Himalyas. On the pretext of 100s of dams coming up massive blasts are being carried out 24x7 thus destroying the entire Himalayan hills, forests, rivers, and ecological balance. concrete multistoreyed structures came up at every nook and corner. this is the mian cause of disaster.more over now thousands visit the areas in the name of tourism and ruin the entire belt. everyone speaks excellent on TV channels but no one is ready to change oneself towards contributing the safety of our mother nature. We may see even more deadly disasters in times to come if we continue like this.
