Governor,s power
by on Jul 19, 2013 05:32 PM

If the governor cannot appoint the Lokyukta to check the currupt practice of the chief minister then what is the fun to appont the governor. How can a chief minister claim that he is honest if lokyukta is not there.

Self styled honesty without Lokyukta authentication
by on Jul 19, 2013 05:28 PM

Modi govt has not appointed the Lokayukta. Why so he know better. If he is honest then why he worried from Mr. Mehta which was appointed by the Governor constitutionally There is something wrong in his govt. Now the Supreme court has turned down the application of Modi Govt. to replace the Lokyukta. We should hope that truth comes in picture very shortly how honest his govt. is.

I think it’s time rediff starts putting the reporter names in the main page along with the titles..
We can quickly decide whether to read it or not. Some of the reporters you have hired are just wasting our time..
Please consider this.

What is the role of the Governor ?
by Ravindra Parasnis on Jul 19, 2013 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

How can the Governor start acting as the executive? The Governor of Gujarat M. Kamla Beniwal and of Karnataka Mr. HR BHaradwaj have been proactive in trying to fix the BJP Governments in their respective States in a most obscene manner. This is not just unfair but also improper. Under the circumstances the Courts should have shown some semblance of justice while giving their judgement. Are they letting this gubernatorial office become a part of the executive ? May be there are post retirement doles from the Congress Govt.

The governors matter too, as has been clearly shown in both Gujarat and Karnataka. What the electorate cannot do, the CON party manages through governors. For months on end HRB held parleys with CON men and JD-S on how to break the BJP in Karnataka. His refrain .. 'I am a Con man first, governor later'. Of course since you are such a stooge, you will not like to hear such facts.

Modi should have said that he is willing to accept his worst critic as Lok Ayukta. But for obvious reasons, he fought until the last and squandered 25 crores of tax payers' money.

If he is honest as you believe, he should not waste 25 crores of public money o try to block Lok Ayukta. He should throw a challenge that his worst critic be appointed as Lok Ayukta.
