why spare him?????
by asli mumbaikar on Jan 30, 2013 11:01 PM  | Hide replies

That fellow has committed a brutal crime. The Victim (girl) died after 13 days.He definitely did not behave like a child then, why shd he take cover under the juvenile Act??
The least his parents can do is to state that they gave the wrong date, that made him younger by 6 months. He can also own up his crime and seek full punishment. The motive must be ascertained and on that basis he can be puniushed severely. He did not do a mischief.

In the meanwhile, let Parl and the judiciary do the amendments to take care of such cases in future.

Let the age not be refined to 15 but certain crimes if, done even by a 15 year old, will be regarded as adult crimes and sentenced accordingly.
Let us as a nation show our maturity and not argue on legal nuances.A cruel and barbaric act has been committed, let us punish, the so- called juvenile.

Tomw many men would hire young boys below 18 or 15 and make them throw acid into the faces of girls, who may have spurned their advances. Then what will be the way to go ?? As it is yound boys of 10 years are raping 5 year old girls and carrying knives and guns to school.Society morals and values have changed, let the laws change.

JUVENILES SHOULD BE SHOWN A PROPER PATH, THEY NEED PROPER EDUCATION AND LOVE FROM SOCIETY, THEY ARE THE FUTURE OF INDIA. WE SHOULD SHOW THEM THE WAY. PUNISHMENT IS NOT A SOLUTION, IT WILL ONLY RUIN A LIFE OF JUVENILE.

Very good thought indeed. Just as a gruesome murder case loses its heat in our courts enabling lawyers and even judges toactually crack jokes during hearings
and the whole thing becomes a futile exercise, so will this Delhi victim case also. There will never be a deterrent punishment. There must be an eye for an eye, a hand for a hand, a tooth for a tooth and sometime 2 teeth for one. Do this publicly for one or two years, India will again be the most law abiding country in the world.

Arguing legal nuances is certainly a luxury. I would say that unwritten maxim "the lawyer must always try to defend and save his client" must be thrown out. The lawyer must be held responsible when a rapist-murderer is acquitted in a lower court because of that lawyer and then sentenced to death in the Supreme Court. The lawyer is proved to aiding and abetting crime and he must be punished equally. Some criminal lawyers charge and are paid Rs. 50 lac a day - why ? because they are believed to save the bonafide culprit. That will stop only when lawyers are identified and punished with the convicted criminal.

The rate of Juvenile criminals rising very fast, particularly r@pes. JJB has no answer to this.

This Darinda, 17 years 6 month old who was most brutal in this case, will walk free after 6 months and commit even more heinous crimes. Can JJB reply to this?

There are reports in the media that records of this guy have been tampered under severe political prssure to save him, because he is from a min0rity c0mmunity.

1.WE NEED TO PUNISH THE ITEM GIRLS AND ITEM SONG MAKERS IN BOLLYWOOD, THEY ARE TREATING WOMEN LIKE COMMODITIES.

2.ANOTHER REASON FOR SUCH CRIMES IS ALCOHOLISM, PEOPLE LOSE THESE SENSES AND THOUGHT PROCESS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL, THEY CANNOT CONTROL THEIR URGES. WHY IS GOVT NOT BANNING ALCOHOL?

change the law
by proud indian on Jan 30, 2013 10:15 PM  | Hide replies

laws must be reviewed from the present sociocultural perspectives. today's teens are not like teens of 40s or 50s. age can not be the only parameter for a juvenile. there is anyway no practical difference between 17yr 364dys and 18yrs. below 16, one may be treated as juvenile, but from 16 to 18, one should be treated as 'advanced' juvenile; for them, not only age but other parameters must be checked like hormonal level, their present activities, psychological maturity, etc. considering all these factors and the degree of crime, these people must be sentenced.

Juvenile Justice board is giving free hand to Juveniles to do most terrible crimes and walk free. This will set a really dangerous precedent and this law will be @bused to the maximum by 16-18 year old criminals.

yes, if a minor commits such crime should be treated as general criminal in view of level of crime. the law should be amended in view of increase in crimes by juveniles.

Hang that B*std after completing 18 yrs

It would be better for Juvenile Court to take a decision to keep that B*std in Jail till he completes his 18 yrs (on record) and hang him next day. Just a matter of few days. That will be a true alternative justice. No other way.
