Right decision but bit late....
by Ravindra Avasare on Jan 23, 2013 10:25 AM

Mr. Gadkari has taken right decision at last but it is bit late. If had he taken this decision at the beginning or immediately after the alleged charges against him, he would have been hero of the hour, which he lost. But any how, better late than never, to save the future of BJP and let us hope (less) Con party takes lessons / que from it. Thanks Mr. Gadkari for taking right decision to save the party.

Yes. He is right. If he continued to be at the helm of affairs of BJP, it will have come to its old 2 seats in Parliament. He has saved BJP from getting 2 Parliament Members in 2014 elections. He is the worst President BJP ever had and it will benefit by throwing him out from Presidentship.

The man who oversaw BJP's decline in UP is not all India Prez. Another figurehead, while the real powerplay happens elsewhere.

Making virtue of a necassity
by giveanid on Jan 23, 2013 10:21 AM  | Hide replies

The cadre party's power struggle has played out in public eye!
Mortified sanghizhaddis are desperately trying to put a new spin on it "inner party democracy"!
hahaha. No election, then what democracy?
Why did gadkari got to change BJP constitution to get a second term? Then he opted out as it was clear that he will not emerge uncathed in a fight with Advani.

Bottom Line: RSS has lost its last vestoge of pride. First Modi dumped them. Now BJP dumped them too!

Everyone in the BJP/RSS is a PM-in-waiting. Some of them have been waiting for decades.

On the other hand, the Congress is a party united under one leader with a clear candidate for the post of PM. The people of India are clamouring for Mr Rahul Gandhi to accept the post of PM.

See the difference between Congress and BJP. Compare Mr Rahul Gandhi's inspiring speech with the damp squib of Mr Nitin Gadkari.

What inspiring speech! he looked terribly sick on the stage while speaking. What about his brother in law who is involved in many real state scams and calls the country a banana republic. What about the main accused of Bofors scam Quatrocci (personal friend of his mother) who was bailed out by Govt?

Appreciate the action taken by Gadkari. Even his arch critic left wing senior journalist Kuldip Nayyar had praised his humility.

What is Arvind Kejriwal doing now? Did not hear any further sensational revelations from him.

He could only affect Gadkari. Rest all (Vadra, Ambani etc) are roaming free with no impact at all. CBI can't dare to touch them.

Wise decision by BJP
by Sandy on Jan 23, 2013 10:15 AM  | Hide replies

Its a good decision to make Gadkari step down. Perhaps BJP will need a more enterprising leader than Rajnath Singh to be the president in this crucial time before state and General election.

Even for Gadkari its not all over, he can always come back to top after a break. BJP should also make sure that it supports Gadkari in his fight against the allegations hurled at him.

Now the energy of the party and cadres should be to take on the challenge of seeing the party to a credible standing , never mind if we stay in opposition or in power but we should be a confident bunch to fight the Kejriwals and Corrupt congress.

After Advani left in 1998, BJP President is a low profile position. Since then only little known leaders have been on this position. The high profile leaders like Modi, Sushma Swaraj, Jaitley, Naqwi, Shahnawaj and CMs in states are not interested in taking over it as they have to stick one person one post policy.

Rajnath had been BJP President earlier, so he is a good choice, if not the best.

There are two type of people.

1. Who accept the fault and go on to correct them. Gadkari belongs to this category.
2. Shameless guys who do not accept the fault and still flourish on Govt support through blackmail or relationship - Raja, Kanimozhi, Kalmadi, Sibal, MMS, S0nia, Rahul Gandhi, Chidambaram, Shinde, Digvijay Singh, Manishankar Iyer belong to this category.
