And BJP leader Arun Jaitley was the advocate of PJ Kurien in Supreme Court. Does that complete the story ?

Two Governments, one led by Nayanar and the other one Achumama of LDF, have helped Kurien from being named in the FIR. Now the story is complete.

The self-styled Communists (CPIM) are not Communists but servants of Sonia Gandhi. Remember, how they transferred the anti-congress votes they got from Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura in favour of Congress led UPA-1 for 5 years and Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to become President.

Becuase of the left support in UPA 1, the govt performed well compared(like vajpey's NDA) any other govt than last 25 years and even 1000 times better than current UPA. The control left helped the congress to win the lst loksabha elections

Suryanelli - Trial by media!
by Neetiman Kumar on Feb 20, 2013 10:01 AM

What we now see is trial by the media, with the help of the left-oriented people in spreading misinformation.

Just one example: The High Court judgment, acquitting the accused, and now struck down by Supreme Court, was in Jan 2005, by a two-Judge Div Bench, Gafoor & Basant.

Kurien's judgment of the High Court was passed in April 2007 by a Single Judge, Udayabhanu.

Whereas, Seema says that Supreme Court set aside both the above judgment. It has not. So Kurien is still in the clear.

All the victim has to do, if she thinks she did not get justice, is to approach the High Court again against Kurien. That is not happening here.

But what really happening is the handiwork of myopic left parties still using this sensational case for maximum political advantage, with the help of an excited media, trapped in the ever-increasing eye-ball grabbing competition.

Good luck to all!

Suryanelli case
by chris on Feb 20, 2013 09:34 AM  | Hide replies

Aren't these words mere crocodile tears for the case was registered 17 years back this left leader's own party CPI(M) ruled Kerala alternately in between, why did not the case investigated honestly to punish the culprits? Politicians of all hues submerge the colours to save their own clan lest whichever school of thought they belong to! The arrogance of the erstwhile chief investigator on camera brags that words of the victim could not be taken on face value to arrest a culprit i.e. here in this case deputy chairman of present Rajya Sabha - P. J. Kurien, aren't these the very words hint nuances of checkered investigation with malafide intention to save VIPs involved painting the hapless victim girl in poor light as being a prostitute? Some eye-brow raising simple questions : why did P J Kurien a minister at that time travel without escort against protocol, why there are no records of his whereabouts for given certain time, most important of all the politicians of different hues why only P J Kurien's name cropped up in this case, why Kurien was not included in identifying parade? It was victim girl's father who filed the complaint that was hijacked by certain vested interests to save the influential. The essence of the case if you have muscle and political power you could indulge in any anti-social activity with impunity and could come out unscathed and if somebody dares to persist against them end up tarred with accusations here the the victim being branded prostitute.

gulf riveries
by Hari krishna on Feb 20, 2013 09:30 AM  | Hide replies

The key issue is unemployment and high population. Due to unemployment thousands virtually look for jobs in gulf. Typically a gulf prospect taps into a consultant and makes arrangement for a visa and asmall job like say florist, market owner or restaurant in gulf region. The person pays up the consultant for visa by mortgaing some small privately owned property. Since the level of unemployment is high there is atleast one or two extra persons per household that a gulf goer has to provide for and also hopes to take with him when he comes next time around. This apart being rather sensitive and emotional by nature malayalees spend lot on social functions like marriages, child birth, centenary completion, marriage fixing ceremony and also birthdays. Even a small lower middle class family spends 5-6 lakhs on functions and this does not include jewellery cost which can shoot upto one or two lakhs more. A gulf goer has to work hard to provide for these expenses. This apart he has to arrange for medical facility, school and college expenses etc which are also costly.
With all these in mind he puts up a lot of hours of work in gulf and becomes victim to hart disease, hypertension etc. The kerala govt channel recently played a serial depicting the difficulties faced by pravasi gulf goers . Not to say that the illegal financing has also led to a proliferated hawala network that is stronng along the coast upto mumbai and surat.

Justice ..An Imperative Need and NOW
by Karan on Feb 20, 2013 09:15 AM

This is nothing to do with political parties but with the need to control men who have their brains between their legs. Justice must be dispensed and swiftly at that too. She definitely deserves a life and those who toyed with her life from childhood must lose their right to normal livelihood immediately.
The more such news of injustice abounds, the larger risk we run as a society of being corrected suddenly with a damaging effect.
