Can any body in india say he got a 2wheeler or 4 wheeler licence without extra charges(bribe)?
Bribe is part of govt service for most of the activities except few like Passport or Railway tickets where you can get done without paying a single paise bribe.

defense equpts
by raman govindan on Feb 14, 2013 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

helicopters, defense equipments, arms, ammunitins, tanks, defense transport equpments are not that high in technology that we cannot make it

but kick backs will be difficult to get it the and secrecy of it will be lost!

the technology, the business of making such equpts. are latin and greek to our politicians who are well versed in caste dynamics and possess the talent to derive advantage of it.

a Tata, Birla or TVS are given instruction to make it at cost plus nominal profit, they will make it better than the imported one at a reduced cost with increase in employment in our country.

one may ask why cant HAL can make it?

the workers and officers of HAL or any other PSUs are given pittance as salary, and incentives!

the scientis and engineers engaged in the design and manufacture of such equipments abroad, are paid more than a crore (equalent in indian currency) per annum. indian counter parts do not reach even one tenth of it locally! their salary is limited by the president's salary i.e.rs. 100,000. the private sector does not have that limitation!

it will be difficult to motivate a govt. or psu officers to rsise their level under the given circumstances!

Jesus It is going to be extremely risky to get such a hight technology equipment done by HAL which only employs third grade Engineers sourced on quota basis.Even pittance paid to them is a waste of national resources.

the ministers who decide are pure unaduterated politicians and have no iota of knowedge about science & technoogy, defense equipments, even primary undersrtanding of manufacture, lacks business sense!

as them the the best aignment of caste in their native state to win the election, answer will come in a jiffy!

an as in indian traditions they respect foreign degree, foreighn wine, whiskey and advices and manufatured products!

Just adding to your Comment
India has become Recently largetst importer of defence equipments

India has technology to send things to space.
Why cant it make small guns and uniforms or gadgets which are required by their own ARMY which has base close to One Million
