You seem to have skipped this part: "These are not crimes. We're talking about paying a commission to someone in that country. Why, because those are the rules in that country"
THOSE ARE THE RULES IN THAT COUNTRY means "IN INDIA"!!

But that's the fact... In India.. Not just govt sector, even in private sector it happens.
Surely, paying a "commission" on a tender is not a rule in our country (India). Certainly, it is corruption (and illegal) on the part of the giver and the taker of the Commission. There are several 100 % honest officers in many Departments of Govt. of India carrying out Development works who do not accept any commission or bribe. It is due to the "brought up" by their parents and not because of the fear of LOKPAL. WE WANT HONEST PEOPLE IN THE SERVICE OF SOCIETY. I request honest people in Govt to support my statement. M.G. A government employee read your message and went searching for Mr.honest. they couldnt find Mr.honest in his office. he asked other government employees to search and they all asked bribe to search. he went to police to report this and they too asked what wil they put ppl asking bribe in jail. he left from there and stil searching alone now he hopes to find mr.honest in his life time.
Bribe is normally taken by politicians or bureaucrats without adding any value addition, this is corrupt money, in India, bribe giver and bribe taker are equally considered, till we fix double punishment to bribe taker, nothing will improve, as bribe giver either increase his turnover or provide cheaper services as has happened in 2G case whereas bribe taker mints money for himself.
Crime happens in the world including India. But those indulging in the crime has to be punished. There can not be a justification that bribe are given . Hence the bribe giving and taking person should be left free. Let the criminal suffer.
Foundation of this nation is on Bribe so it shd be lagalized by now!!! or to prevent spreading this to whole world simply outcast this nation from rest of the world.
