Aniket ; you are liable for prosecution for defamation. It is for the courts to decide . Do you know how much salary Indians are paid at US embassies as compared to their own?

If I remember correctly, Kalam was not strip searched and was never prisoned. He was only asked to remove his shoes and coat, though it is still insulting for a person like the ex-president of India. and she is not an ordinary girl, she is the representative of our country there.

I Wish that 1 US $ becomes equal to 1 INR with this row. All this is because of disparity !

I dont think so... Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait currencies are much higher than USD. They dont get royal treatment just because of that

Arrest
by mohan krishna on Dec 18, 2013 07:19 AM  | Hide replies

This arrest and the ruckus will facilitate frequent visits by someone from the govt, especially the minister of foreign affairs and his ministry to the US at the taxpayers' cost. The govt officials would make it a business/pleasure trip at our cost and because of this, there will be steep rise in all essential commodities and chidambaram will be only too happy to oblige "govt tourists" to US since this is the last time the congress is going to be in power in India and if not this chance, these govt officials would lose their chance of visiting US free of cost for the rest of their lives. Diplomacy can be dealt over the phone too! But, who wants to talk?

There is nothing shameful. Her salary is aout 4000$ per month. That maid was demanding 4200$ per month as salary, although the maid signed a contract in India to receive Rs.30000 per month.

Arrest of Diplomat
by mohan krishna on Dec 18, 2013 06:59 AM

The only positive outcome of this incident is that THIS GOVT CAN ACT AND EVEN REACT, EVEN IF IT IS A PUBLIC EYEWASH. What a wonder! Whether the diplomat is guilty or not is for the authorities there to decide. Shinde refused to meet the US delegation in protest of the arrest and humiliation! It saved a lot of time and blushes for the US delegation. That was termed as a "strong backlash" on the part of the Indian govt! The govt wants the people of India to believe that congress supports India, Indians, and Indians' cause. The congress does not realize that the people of India have woken up now!

Arrest of Diplomat
by mohan krishna on Dec 18, 2013 06:47 AM

When the ruling Indian government itself has little or no credibility left across the world, how can we expect other countries to treat our ambassadors or diplomats with respect? The ruling govt is known to be corrupt, apathetic, and anti-national, so no wonder our people are treated this way globally. The credibility of our foreign minister and our home minister is well known and there is no individual in India who speaks well or has a good opinion about them. so these things are bound to happen. Just by declining to meet some representatives of the US govt would not help. Was this done to preserve the integrity of the nation or was a blanket pulled over the eyes of the Indian citizens? nevertheless, ineffectiveness has been the hallmark of the congress and this is demonstrated, unfortunately, globally and reciprocated well by the other countries. No other diplomat from any country would be handcuffed in public, for example, in US, leave alone strip-searched. Even rahul gandhi was left off (the reason is not clear as yet) when he was caught in Boston by the FBI with thousands of Dollars of unaccounted cash in his possession. Weird things happen!

Arrest of Indian Deplomat
by arun vachali on Dec 18, 2013 06:33 AM

The arrest of Indian Deplomat has created a lot of contraversy. She is rich, educated and can take care of her self.
But who is there to mitigate the suffering of the poor Indian Fishermen who is languishing in Sri Lanka, Bengladesh and Pakistan jails.
The Government should treat all cityzen equal
