This is Kindergarden level stuff
by Mind Clear on Dec 18, 2013 02:28 AM  | Hide replies

We are talking about some pittance, and some unskilled maid getting conned by the follish Consular officers repeatedly. This should not have been escalated so far. Making a mountain out of a mole-hill. Maid service should b stopped.

More trouble brewing
by Guest on Dec 18, 2013 02:26 AM

This is just the beginning. I don't think US will relent on this till India does something with the $1.5M outstanding court judgement against previous diplomat Mrs. Malhotra for not paying her nanny properly. Mrs. Malhotra is out of hands in India but they got diplomat Debyani. Both nannies are probably US residents through asylum. Serious trouble ahead unless the issue is resolved at a very high political level. At the local district court level under prosecutor Preet Bharara GOI is in serious trouble. Time for GOI for no public inciting but for serious back door diplomacy.

What the Govt of India is demanding also only is to proceed legally. The treatment given to Devyani is doubly cursed, first because the action is not in accordance with what is done to diplomatic personnel. Secondly being woman she ought to have been treated in a more dignified manner.

I am afraid USA hs goofed

Serious lapse on GOI part
by Guest on Dec 18, 2013 02:07 AM  | Hide replies

There is an outstanding US court warrant on diplomat Mrs. Malhotra in the amount of $1.5M for not paying her nanny.

Within 2 years GOI advises another senior diplomat to falsify information on visa application and get a personal nanny.

Stop blaming US, find out all the real culprits behind this shameful incident and bring them to justice in Indian courts.

lets cut some slack ...its not a big offence..one dalit indian committed a minor offence on another dalit indian. what big deal ?

is not like raymond allen davis murdering two pakis in lahore and americans pulling him quoting diplomatic immunity and paying blood money. i mean hellooo...we dont have to chicken out on this issue to so called american uprightness on matters of law.

and mind you diplomatic immunity doesnt cover murder which mr raymond allen davis did...and also mind u he was no deputy consul general..he is mere a hole in american consulate

what reservation. It is the lawful right of dalits, obcs, tribals to get 100 % reservation in all sectors. but wat they get is only 48 % that too only in govt sectors

but they paid blood money right? so in that manner, do you want india to pay fine money and bring back devyani? US did not get raymond davis due to high handedness, but they had to pay for it which was accepted by the jihadis

Exactly....why did they falsify info? They could have told US...we will pay Indians per Indian stds only...what will happen to us IT guys? If US says pay Indian salary in USA? The US makes double sure we are paid well and not discriminated.

This all hue and cry is only because the person involved is a civil servant.if she has been a doctor, engineer or any other professional.the same consulate may have been cold feet and blaming the other person.
