Rape as an assault is only part of the problem
by kiran kumar on Apr 25, 2013 04:26 PM

Consider a situation, a person is walking on the road, another person spits on him. If the culprit is caught, he will be taken to task. Victim cleans himself and moves on. If the culprit is not caught, victim still cleans himself and moves on.

When it comes to the case of rape, the victim is continued to be stigmatized for something she is not responsible for. This treatment by society makes rape different than a physical assault.

In a nut shell, rapists trigger the victimization and society continues the process for the rest of the life of the victim.

Any attempt to solve this problem should be two pronged. Preventing the incidents and punishing the culprits should be taken care by the police and govt. Rehabilitation and care should be taken up by the society.

Anyone attempting to fix one first then planning to go the next is only passing time and not interested in a permanent solution.

Very simple.. the boy-girl friend culture (boys and girls going hand in hand) which had been spread like a virus by some western minded people on top,.... fueled by manifold increase of vulgar models, movies, Valentines, live-in-relations etc...... When these were least in olden days, women were safest... Just like women take precautions against theft of their ornaments, money purses, they should do same to protect their dignity.. after-all the world consists both saints and thieves.. one can not expect only a male to be perfect but not females... . I wonder if all these women MPs, Women's commissions. sensor boards etc. are serious/sincere about dignity of women, why they cannot protest against vulgarity, movies, models etc..? rather they recommend awards to dirty pictures? Nothing comes free of cost. freedom/liberty has no exception.. you cannot put sweets in front of ants but prevent/control them from touching.. a law cannot control human nature.

false complaints against men also exist and they are dangerous
If police is flooded with false complaints genuine cases may get ignored

Rape is now what she says or has been understood by an one including Judges, but only Humane and Medical and Scientits understand, it is not Maleness confirming to soceity. She should speak to me inperson, I will convince her it is not, but however brutality and murder is not correct and really pity. It should not happen to any girl or boy, atleast of that age and no wrong of girl atleast. GGGG (Name witheld).

This is an unhuman activity and perform by such people who does not have any knowledge respecting the women, they are taught that women is just an object, majority of people in india leaves in village, 75% of people are still in villages, out of 25% , half of them are from villages, most of urban people are educated, they know the respect of women, but our govt, is doing nothing to litrate village people to respect women, it starts from our home, any deficiny in our system should be stop by roots not by leaves, punishing rapist is very good option, but it would not kill that unhuman acitivy from roots, to do that govt, should spread a awareness reagarding women emporment, from every since ramayan and mahabharat times women has been respected, then why this unhuman acitcity now, develop teh brain of new genration, other wise it would be happen again and again
