either nehru-gandhi family should bring more foreigners to its fold or they should outsource governance fully to foreigners.
Its BJP decision to object to FDI in retail. So, they will put forth all sorts of lame excuses and oppose it. I guess the main reason for this is BJP is mostly funded by these large number of BANYAS across the country and it is in turn, it is BJP’s responsibility to protect their interests rather than country’s interests.
Now, let us have look at the Retail shops functionality. Normally, large Retail shops are likely to be set up in major cities where they get adequate revenues and is likely to be meager in number. Suppose one big Retail shop is set at Noida Sector 24, nobody is going to come for shopping there from far away places in Delhi, Faridabad, etc. so, all shops other than the shops adjacent to Retail shop will continue to get its business. Now, so far as the small shops around the Retail chain shop are concerned, normally people go to such Mall/Retail shop for large scale purchases only. So, even if somebody wants some items in small quantity, they will continue to depend on small shops. So, the logic of closing down all the small shops in India just because 10 or 15 Retail Shops established cannot be justified. The small shop owners also need not worry as they are unlikely to be affected.
Secondly, we get quality products. At least now, if we go to large retail chain shops like Spencers, More, Big Bazaar, the items packed and supplied from there are far better in quality than the items being sold in small shops (may be because small shops cann

cannot afford to such quality control). But the fact is that we pay similar price for a substandard item from small shop. So, we get quality products from such large retail shops.
Further, we see a large quantity of food products are getting rotten in India. The government's storage facilities are very poor. We have not seen no state government has taken any constructive steps to improve this situation over the years. We have been wasting a large quantity of food grains, vegetables, fruits, etc. due to lack of storage and improper supply available now. If such large scale Retail chain comes forward and buy food grains, vegetables, etc., for selling through their chains, such wastage can be avoided.
And more importantly, the government revenues will increase. As of now, these small Kirana stores sell all the items at MRP. MRP is inclusive of all taxes. However, can anyone tell how many of the shop owners pay taxes despite the fact that it is collected from public ? So, such large retailers give proper bill and remit taxes, which will increase the revenue of the government. In fact, this non payment of taxes by the shop keepers is bigger than the biggest scams that has been taking place in India. Above all, in India, people do business but they hardly care for customer satisfaction, providing quality products and services, after sales service, etc. and this is a fact. They do not hesitate to provide adulterated food items (knowing that it will harm the people), ro

thats a good concern i appreciate it...we must have some alternative to solve it...slowly but we can solve it..
So what if they r marketing executives. Atleast they r not in anti social activities. And sales executives will be paid good salary. Soon educational institutions will start courses in this field.
India is a nation of fithly raamus and shyamoos working in dirty baniya shops. Hypermarkets are better. Roadside baniya is a food adulterator, tax evader, famine creator and slave driver. The big baniya is only a tax evader and he can be threatned by nationalisation

why do you think foreign BANYAS are not food adulterator, tax evader, famine creator and slave driver?

Atleast in supermarkets you get a tax receipt whereas in baniya shops you get nothing all written on piece of paper

ofcours this will happen if foolish Indians greedy of money don not start thinking for broder picture
Is it not better than being cheated day in day out by Kirana shop keepers - one product shown and another product packed , quality wise , weights never accurate and you get 10 -20 % less all the time
mr. jaitley, what's wrong being a sales boy or girl? today because of the opening up of indian economy even a class 10 pass can get a job in a bpo and get handsome salary. was it so when you came out of colleges? think of those days. do not turn a blind eye to the reality. fdi is good for the country as it would benefit the producers and consumers, by far the two most important sections of the community lessening the stranglehold of the middlemen, the parasites who do not pay taxes.
