bcoz indian outlets are franchisies which is run by greedy indian baniya (all community) culturred indian buisnessmen who actually worship only money.
Articles changing readers direction..... SORRY.....readers changing articles direction........argument since centuries....whether eating plant, grains...... is vegetable or not........AS IT GROWS ON EARTH, IT HAS LIFE, NO ONE CAN DENY THIS FACT.
I have eaten KFC all over the world and they are generally far better hygienically compared to the typical Indian restaurant. These are all pre-processed ready to cook products where the Franchisee just fries it on demand. The biggest problem with India, especially Kerala is the lack proper cold chain and the repeated power failures. This means the frozen products are never transported or kept at the desired -18 degree C and repeated defrosting and freezing can wreck havoc with the product quality. Another issue I have observed in India is with regard to the rancidity of the oil, which is never seen outside of India in any of the KFC outlets. So overall typical Indian conditions and mentality contribute to the loss of quality. I do not know if the chicken is imported or processed in India. If processed in India, it may be another source where the problem originally happened.

What I said is applicable to any frozen food based retail business in India. Have you eaten ice cream in Indian cities, especially Kerala? They have become defrosted multiple times and taste like shit. This is true for any ready to cook product available in any Indian supermarkets. I know many small and big retailers who switch off their freezer in the night to save on power bill. Add power cuts to this and the less than ideal freezers and cold stores and we have recipe for disaster (pun intended). I know the words like MNC and KFC is like a red flag to many in India but if you introspect in a fair manner, you will it is not warranted. There is a reason American MNC fast food giants rule the earth and we need to learn how they do it so we can have our own MNC in food retail.

You cannot run a huge fast food Chain like KFC on fresh chicken as it cannot taste consistent across the outlets. Most often the culprit with stale tasting chicken is the poor refrigerated storage in transit and outlets.
