Our Parliament is supreme but the parliamentarians think that they are supreme. They do not understand the the difference between parliament and the parliamentarian.Blame goes to the senior leadership of the parties who have tried to create vote banks. Solution lies in the Electoral Reforms andd the education need be give to our children who are, today not taught even a word about the essentials and the soul of Democracy. As a first step the rule should be that a candidate getting more than 40 % of the total electorate of a constituency should be declared winner. Today a candidate getting even 15 % votes can be elected. Does he truly represent the constituency.?
D. Goel pkl. afternoon 4.25pm Thursday, may 10, 2012. No doubtSri AAkar Patel Sahib is somewhatan anglo phile and expectslike her othereducated espcially in British systems sand behaviourourparliament fullof too much shouting anddemonstrativeEmotionsoften Dharnas and noisy walk outs. thePresiding officeroften fails to regulate orderly participation of differentmember in making their submissions. In fact , our people's representastives are overcharged with theircollectivepassionate attitudes andthink merely explosive throw up as enough service they have done to their constituents. They need to learn be calm purveyors ofdemocrticprocedures that alone could, perhaps make them serve their preferred objectives theythink they serve fortheir Constituency. Above all, itappears lately many of them disappear justsigning the attendance Register and the house has often heard Quorum Bells .D. Goel
Mr. Patel has most ably listed the negatives which distinguish our parliamentarians. But, yet, fully avoided to justify why people should live up to the Parliament and not the other way round. Mr. Patel has no desire to see how and why the Parliamment has failed to the Indian people. Quoting Mr. Patel from his article, would Mr. Patel agree that the Parliament of India has reduced to a congregation of husslers?

it is on the path of banana republic so dont worry, we will surpass Uganda and Somalia
The govt can spend crores on the security of Afzal Guru & Kasab but cannot give justice to the Indian martyrs who lost their lives protecting them only in Parliament. It is the most shameful act , any govt can indulge in? Let them be happy with the scams & tarnishing the image of India all over the world.
We have a lot of idiots in India who pass the buck on parliament & or politicians... Mr. Idiotic writer & columnist if that is the case why don't you take the initiative to get voted to parliament & make the change you wanted..... Don't be a cribber...................... First understand basic definition of 'DEMOCRACY'

This is how reactions pour in from our educated citizens on a classic report on the working of our Parliament and our Democracy. We don't need such people who cry foul on raising a voice and try to teach the other the definition of Democracy. sachin mahajan has correctly depicted what India needs now :
What is the use of such parliamentary democracy. Indians & India needs discipline, no discrimnation, rules & regulations for all. Do away with this paliamentray democracy & bring Presidential form or military rule. I wish all Indians to rise to the occasion and look towards a better tommorrow.
The middle class has nothing to do with Indian democracy. This has been demonstrated time and again. 1.The elections have been manipulated by creating Vote bank politics. 2.The government institutions have been manipulated by rampant corruption. 3.The media institutions have been highly politicized by patronage
All the above has been done deliberately by Congress since independence to create Nehru family dynastic rule.
The party who has ruled India for more than 90% of years since independence is solely responsible for this.
What is the use of such parliamentary democracy. Indians & India needs discipline, no discrimnation, rules & regulations for all. Do away with this paliamentray democracy & bring Presidential form or military rule

That is the most dangerous thing ---- get frustrated throw away the govt throw away the votes
that is not the solution --- solution is --- more reforms i)JAN LOKPAL bill ii)Vote and give chance to non traditional parties like LOKSATTA iii)ask for Mixed Proportinate electrol system iv)seek better candidates
if you are from Munbai WHY NOT vote for sri Surendra Srivatsva in Graduates const?
many things can be done
PAKISTAN is a good example ,everytime corruption ,army threw and took over
that will never solve the issue
we need a strong leader and national level parties
we see fragmented politics ,National political parties are playing fiddle to popular politics ,mob mentality and regional sentiments
where necessary Nationalism defined and put in strong format
ALl this can be done if National parties at NEW DELHI straighten up and stop doinng street politics
do good politics like in House of the lords or australia or US congress be honest ,debate honest and be sincere
do not ruin between Bangalore and new delhi or hyderabad and new delhi with complaints ,counter complaints and regionalism
