The House has rather been reduced into a number game with no stalwarts either on the treasury benches or at the opposite end.
The result is obvious.
The constitutional grace of the House has diminished to a dangerous level to the extent that the entire House is, on occasions, being chided and derided at much mockingly with some shockingly questionable characters occupying some coveted seats in the House.
It might soon turn itself into a mockery of the democratic process that has lately lost most of its steam to the cocktail governance.

"the shameful nuclear weaponisation of an army that cannot afford even conventional ammunition, all without debate or protest." - only a paki or a loony leftie can be shameful about nuclearization of Indian Army.
It seems Aakar has perched his umbrella here and with his Aakarisms. To ridicule the comments even sensible ones just because you do not agree with them and dismiss them is tyrannical and smacks of your blinkered vision. Do not type cast all Indians and all Indian readers as cretins. Some of the comments in first post were first rate [wait a minute you will say they were bookish]and just because they did not match your taste you condemn them and bracket them as useless. You must get a green passport to soothe your Freudian longings. Don't think you are the only one who sees and understands the house of commons.

you write well but why dont you present facts to refute what he has said? emotions/prickliness/prejudice etc are the bane of logic and reasoning.
It is very easy to blame the Indian population but in all fairness the middle class is doing a lot to change the attitude. Of late, the Governments or those in authority have a tactics to ignore every protest. When Mr.NChandrababu Naidu was CM he ignored protests of Communists on power tariff hike. Similarly he ignored all protests and distanced himself from people. Now a days, there is no value to any protest made by any section. While Japan the pioneer in Nuclear power is closing all its units India is pursuing without hearing or paying any attention to any protest. None takes cognisance of any protest because they are sure of winning elections with their money and wine power. Those who vote if given a pack oif wine on the day of polling would vote to the party which was generous in giving that liquor. It is a known fact that that the Law makers live in a lavish life style. The Law enforcement agencies succumb to pressure of the peoples' representatives from bottom to top. In other countries referred in the article the Police will not spare the offender even he is closely related to the top authority or top authority himself/herself. There whether offence committed or not is the criterion. In India Police and Politicians need not fasten seat belt even in front seat of the car they travel while it is an offense if not fastened by ordinary persons. ISI marked Helmet wearing is compulsory for two wheeler motor vehicle riders but Police/ politicians take pride by violating.
