UNHRC is hijacked by few western interest nations.India should have her own foreign policy, that to say what is in her own interest.

please pay no attention to our desperate immoral congressi govt's against your country. pls wait until next elections when sri narendra modi ji becomes out real prime minister who will be answerable to real people. our current prime minister is a nobody beholden to secretive gandhis.

after next elections our relations will where they need to be - for the best mutual benefits. until then please endure like the rest of us in india.

Your comments can be used as seeds for random number generator!!
Tying unrelated things like Modi, Sri Lanka.
I think for once, India has done the right thing. Without going overboard to criticize Sri Lanka, neither condoning it, it did the right thing to prevent a similar criticism on J&K.

''judge not, ...''

Every fifth tourist in Sri Lanka is an Indian, so, in keeping with non-judgementalness and non-intrusion, India should reduce its tourist component by 20% to 22% as suggested by USA with regard to consumption of Iranian oil.

"Every fifth tourist in SriLanka goes from India" does not mean they are Indians!

China's gain
by debrispatel on Mar 23, 2012 01:14 AM  | Hide replies

One should really hope India made this decision after considering the impact. This would most surely lead Sri Lanka into China's arm. And Pakis are also already cozying up big time with Sri Lanka.

When India expects no one to interfere in Kashmir, same applies to India as well even though these cases are somewhat different.

If anyone has visited Sri Lanka, you will notice that currently, Indian companies dominate 75% of the business there but I worry that this decision will change that scenario.

I really wonder if India is doing this because, Sri Lanka perhaps backstabbed it during our UN votings.

Is it not the classic case of tail wagging the dog? If we should not base our thought of valid condemnation pegged with whether SL will cozy up with China and/or Pak. All along India wasn't supporting anything against SL but SL has already have covert & overt relationship with China. They gave a port building to China despite the fact that it was breaking the understanding with India on the Indian ocean. So if India thinks in this angle then it cannot conduct the foreign policy. Every chotta bachcha will threaten India. Coming to Kashmir. The case is different. All along India was up against Pak sponsored moves. India did not reject any UN sponsored Human Rights studies or condemnations. Whenever such thing came India proved its point. India is against on third party mediation when it comes to settling things with Pak including Kashmir. So if SL govt. says they are not expecting any mediation to talk to the terrorist LTTE or common Tamils of their land while having talks with India then it can be equated to India's stand on Kashmir. And as you have mentioned, despite India supporting SL's stand stating it as internal issue, SL backstabbed on India's position on UN Security Council. India will not be at loss if 75% of business houses are moved out. SL knows very well that China cannot be as cozy with them as India. Wherever it needs to be firm on its principle and its vision, India must. Otherwise it will be (and is, correctly) termed as spineless.

Thats why India has been guarded in its criticism. So be it, if Sri Lanka goes to China's arms. They can make love to each other for all I care.

If Indian Govt, or for that matter, even the whole of TN had supported LTTE, Sri Lanka would not have existed. LTTE has only limited support from selected Tamil sympathizers in Singapore, UK and India, like Vaiko. Beyond that noone cares.

Logical decision
by Narayanan Sangameswaran on Mar 23, 2012 12:35 AM

After what happened to so many innocent people there in SL, it is just logical what India did. These resolutions are not going to do anything to SL, nor will they bring dead people alive. But it will atleast let SL know that the world knew about the crime and that would be a blot in their history.
