As long as , Indian people keep electing criminals and goondas , they will keep killing any honest officer who tries to stop their loot. I am so happy that at least some honest officers are still there who do not toe the politicians line so still there is some hope for india that some or the other day we will become truely independent. Right now instead of while colored britishers, black color politicians are looting india with both hands.

The police is to blame for this and not mafia. Mafia cannot run without help of police or law keepers.
This incident is highly disgusting and shameful. The concerned authorities should immediately put the driver behind bars and arrest his master on whose orders he carried out this dastardly act.

Well the law says that the driver was drunk and could not locate a person standing on the road. He will be freed or will be out on bail within one month for sure. IPS is not above normal police constables. IPS guys first have to set the police force right before taking on criminals.

One more encounter on that spot would have saved this Young IPS officer. By doing this, agree that, there is Human Rights issue. But will these Human Rights Org will come to support his family and the yet to born child

People like you are the reason why India (and the world) is where it is. If this story is true, then this brave maryada purshottam SP was trying to do what is right - uphold the law and not take the law into his own hands. A coward can take the easy way out, it takes guts to put the other face forward. If all of us will suddenly become judge, jury and executioner then there will be no balance in society and we will live in a dictatorship. After all, the goon driving the truck was probably not the head honcho of all crime that exists on earth & even if he was, would taking his life have put an end to all crime once and for all?
See not so easy to mouth off and blame someone else and continue to operate in a sab chalta hai mode, is it?
The sacrifice of own life by an young IPS Officer for the country should beat the conscience of all the political parties in the state, who patronises such dreaded criminals.
As usual our Netas will shed some crocodile tears and promise stern action "with Iron hand" against the Mafia and say that the Law will take its own course (or its own time??) Yeah right -- and who rules India of the 100 scams worth 100 crores plus? who rules Delhi where rapes and murders are as casually done? who rules Kashmir where Hindus cannot even claim their own homes? and who rules North East where there are militancy related killings everyday? and who rules AP hub of naxalites and mafias where certain areas are already out of government control? who rules UP where gunda raj is the paralel government and corruption and misery is the religion?
