The government has promised fast tracking, harshest punishment, new laws. By promising only this much The government is playing a dirty game and I believe most people understand this and therefore the continued protests and the simmering anger. The real issues on which the government is totally silent are a) Police reforms b)Investment in Proper and adequate policing to prevent crimes c) All MPs( except some rare VIPs) and common citizens to have same protection. The issue continues to be the total alienation of the government and all politicians from understanding needs of the people.

Useless assurances and good for nothing statements to calm public will not be done away with, its TIME that they realize that corruption, crime and violence are the things that the common man is disturbed with added to inflation, chaos and utter anarchy this Country is facing...Enough of Assurances the G*a*n*d*h*i*s must ACT not just talk...ACT, people want you to ACT not assure, enough we had enough of your assurances...For the past 62 years you have been assuring and enough is enough..
Now, this is the fate of our country. At last a man who does not have proper knowledge of his own country, has been assuring protesters to address the henious deeds of rapists in a befitting manner. But question is, does Rahul amul knows what is India?

With a loosely defined law and Justice department and a careless Police Administration in India, these are bound to happen and only when people revolt and bring the CHANGE it happens in India..Our politicians especially belonging to the UPA-2 are behaving as if they are bound to rule India forever...They must realize that if they are not going to be sensitive and make rapid reforms in the Law and Police Administration and bring down the Corruption, rest assured they will never win the elections no matter what kind of regional card they play...Even Minorities are frustrated by the way this Govt.is operating....
What else do you expect from a weak and useless govt?
kangraas has had decades of rule in India but it has failed on all accounts. Its a shame that people still vote for kangraas!
delhi has been ruled by kangraas and it cant protect women in delhi, its seat of governance and the heart of its power! how will it protect others who are in all parts of India?
We dont need more useless laws to protect women by kangraas!
We need enforcement of those laws and kangraas has always failed in law enforcement except when they need to impose emergencies on us!

WE need long sterm solutions and NOT just short cuts agsinst such shameful statictics! Rape and sexual exploitation is also promoted by bolyywodd movief ros past 50 years and regional language and kollywood movies are competing with bollywood in this matter and the fans of bollywood and kollywood actors want to imiate their heroes in real life and that is the real prob;em,folks! In lanka there is NO Bollywood& NO rapes! But there is kollywood&tamil movies&hence tamil womne7girls get raped! simple as that!It is time that rulers study the reasons for harassment, teasing and violence against girls and women and not make knee jerk reactions only!We need to take more aggressive and logical steps to prevent crimes and rape,etc against women and girls and not just knee jerk reactions,folks! All women and girls are not angels and sometimes they are willing accomplices too! Shame that india has not banned Bollywood and useless and poverty-producing Test cricket even now! Just watch the bollywood and kollywood moveis and one can see the heores openly teasing and harassing girls and women and this has been going on for past 50 years and more too! --is the true reminiscent of what happened in Tahir square of Cairo [Egypt]. The Cairo protests brought down the strong dictator- Hushne Mubarak. Same thing is going to happen here. Unfortunately, Manmohan/Sheila Dixit are unable to read the writing on the wall. My contention is that, the central administration has totally collapsed.
