Gurucharan Das interview
by R Balasubramanian on Dec 06, 2012 02:05 PM

The interview was good. I read at one go. At least he gave credit to Modi for track record. One minor comment is Dharma starts at individal level is time immemorial in india, every scritures, Saints say this, I am not sure it is Anna's words, may be recounted it. Another it was not because of Anna the ministers went to jail, it was before Anna movement, it was Subramanian Swamy and Supreme court who made it happen. Anna, perhaps, subsequently would have given some momemtum.

The myth of Brahmin oppression
by desi twist on Dec 06, 2012 01:37 PM  | Hide replies

Brahmins seem to be everyone's favorite punching bag, probably because they do not retaliate. The truth is every person in this country observes caste discrimination. Not sure why Brahmins are singled out. They were arrogant, yes. But they do not indulge in honor killings, voting along caste lines and so on. In fact, many Brahmins in the city have moved on...

There will always be classes and untouchability. I have seen many officers from SC quota practicing untouchability with sweepers from their own caste.Crooked politicians have made it a political issue rather than of social reform.

Why does then Mayawati goes for a Mishra foher most confidante secretary. All these dlit leaders are backward looking, have no faith in judiciary, have done nothing to make institutions strong and accounatble as it was detrimental to their vested interests. They have followed the policy of hate mongering to garner votes. Negativism is the bane of Indian society. It can not grow until they resolve these contradictions by working honestly. The debate and vote on FDI has revealed the duplicity of the so called Falit leaders.
