It's hard to believe that the parents would torture a seven year baby for such a thing.how the trial has happened at such a lightning speed?there is definitely something fishy.

Some innocent parents can get caught

and that is unfortunate. The problem in the West is that some parents really abuse their children. So laws like these are necessary. You can get into trouble for pinching/spanking your child when you only meant his improvement. Is it extreme...not if you consider the fact that a real crime against a child can go unpunished.

We have a habit of adapting any things which are followed in west. But I hope our law makers shall not try to introduce similar laws in India. Because giving proper punishment to children at the right time is duty of the parents and teachers. It is good for the children.

May not be needed in India but believe me it is totally needed in the West where there are many cases of abusing children by parents. You don't want to let a real case of abuse go unpunished and that is why the law has to be so strict.

Indians too must stop thinking of their children as their private property.

Give a chocolate
by Rishi A on Dec 04, 2012 06:41 PM  | Hide replies

Don't say anything to child. Give him/her a chocolate and request them to study well, do not urinate in bus etc. etc. They will listen happily and follow what ever the parents tell them.
When you grow plants, some time you need to cut them, trip to get proper shape, bend it etc. If all these are mistakes, then scolding the children are certainly mistake.

I think this fellow is a fake so he should be imprisoned for life for that too. He may be some criminal who faked everything and went to norway as IT fellow. His core habits have not changed.
