World witnessed two World Wars - 1 and 2 -- Both happened or originated in EUROPE they did not originate or happen in ASIA --- also when World War 1 and World war2 British were ruling India ,at that time the East India army has had Indian soldiers serving and yes some of the fought on behalf of the British in those wars (Iam not sure about the numbers or how large)
some of INDIAS independence struggle leaders have witnessed or heard about those WARS
That is why immediately after India attained independence post 1947 Indias first PM Pandit Nehru declared Panchsheel and also proposed NAM(Non Aligned Movement) so India was or is never a member of NATO block officially During Smt Indira gandhijis time ,Pakistan already has had Most favoured Nation status with USA and was a friendly country
USSR at that time ,was friendly with India and vice versa
then Soviet Union Collapsed India did 1991-92 Economic reforms
all that time USA knew where india stands in Foreign affairs at large But post 1991-92 Economic reforms and post Globalization
Traffic between people to people -(USA - INDIA and vice versa) started to take off
so one one hand we have Poeple to people realtionships whether be it students ,workers ,professionals or immigrants at large
I feel Indians contribution in general has been very positive to USA and vice versa
Various studies by Anna Saxon Lee (as part of her PHD thesis ) has done extensive research in silicon valley and doc
Re: @keep UN seperate from people to people relationships

umented has well illustrated data that records 33 percent to 38 percent of all Silcon Valley startups has had Indian heritage people as founders --- as of Today there are a few schools that has academicians and deans of same indian heritage as well
--- These relationships established with hardwork ,lots of efforts by those NRIs in USA ,I think these relationships will stand the time
But India as a country Indian Govt with its aims to look after its 1.2 billion populace is a different issue
Thats why for the respected conservative senator to cite United Nations voting record as a basis of the relationship does not do justice to the efforts and hardwork of those NRIs who have tioled so hard to migrate in the past few decades and contribute to working for better relations between USA and India ---- However having said that we both nations are
i)Democracies at large ii) we both are on the same page on TERROR iii)we are also on the same page as far as security in Asia Pacific is concerned
iv) India also supports USA on intellectual property rights issue as well
The above 3 are best factors that merit friendly relations ------ As far as Business is concerned India perceives a Flat world ,where who ever competes on merit will win --
I have been in Australia for enough to observe the news --- Take news 2 days ago ,on the same day India media published - Indias Missile test ,on the side some aspiring Bollywood actress killed due to personal jealousy But Yahoo 7 on the web ,Channel 7 (TV) in the morning ,only picked aspiring bollywood actress incident
ii) a few weeks ago ,same case CWG 2010 games ,one of the media house from Australia conducted sting operation ,that too made up (exposed by ABC four corners how it is prejuidiced ) has also happened
ISRO has launched 14 missions ,and also has launched 10 satellites in one mission
never ever we saw even a single news item about the same
apart from that ,there is only Indian IT BPO being projected we can go back 10-20 years and we will find many more news coverage only in projecting Indias weak points but none of the positive news
So given the above ,the way news is covered ,what is it wrong If indians want to highlight the other side of India
I) is it not true Ferrari Formula one racing team uses Indias TCS software to fine tune its vehicles parameters
ii)German port uses Indias sofware to schedule ships Changhi airport uses Indias software to schedule its airport Lighting
iii)AUTOLAY software made in india was used by AIRBUS to layout the various models (A380 )
Like the above there are a few more examples
so put in a context ,it is true
does exposure of WIKILEAKS cables ,made countries to fight among themselve
i)It looks like all kinds of people ,both frustrated or otherwise are here to spread the fight between people which is unnecessary
ii)It is natural for a father to be proud of his sons or duaghters achievements ,it is also possible out of more affection ,he can praise among his relatives or friends ,for others point of view it might seem normal achievements or they might think that it is no big deal
iii)Same case as far as INDIA is concerned ,considering that it has got independence only 60 plus years ago ,from indian point of veiw there is lots of progess
iv)INDIAs haters or other jealous people might dismiss as cheap labour or might even say it is not achievement ,so it is hard to convince all the people in the room to agree with you
v)Even if indians said as per the article ,it is quiete harmless and does not intend any propaganda or campaign
It is per the context ,I do not think that just because some one said as per the article ,India will not attain greater heights nor USA will get affected at all
it is in the end ,hardwork and results that matter
I do not think anybody will work to someone ,just only because it is cheap ,the stuff also has to work
Iam sure it did worked ,that is why Indian IT majors like TCS has had Fortune 500 companies give the contracts
how will one explain Ferrari Formula one racing car giving contract to TCS (indian software company)
Re: @it is as per the context
by rama anne on Apr 22, 2012 07:55 AM
veloped by Indians in India
Iam sure airbus will not use that software for A380 plane layout ,just because it is made at a cheaper cost
It has also to work and AIRPLANE design being critical ,they will not just use it ---- Likewise other major Indian ICT has provided sofwtare to beoing (embedded systems )
then there are German ports SONY banks from europe Iam sure they will not source just because it is cheaper alone it is only one factor besides others --- so respect has to be both ways I guess
sameway German Mercdez Benz is sold in india to the people who can afford to buy --- then there is Dutch gaint Larsen and Tuobro (Construction gaint in India that is executing many projets worth crores)
Hindustan LEVER (parent UNILEVER ) selling toileteries ,surf etc --- then there is Boeing selling planes --- ofcousre there is Indians buying up COAL from australia in Billions of dollars
------ so literally speaking one in a way is dependent at micro level
but at MACRO level ,they are all dependent ,for example --- why would GFC make jobs disappear?
why would TSUNAMI or h1n1 virus affect business across borders ?
or unrest elsewhere in middle east effect OIL prices ?
so it is all in the context yet if you want to start a fight ,it is not in the context hope that should put an end to the arguments ---
Sure India needs US and that is how it has always been and is. Both parties have exactly behaved in keeping with that reality. US never had much of a relationship with India. In terms of relationships, US has special relationships only with middle-east countries like Kuwait, Suadi, and countries like Britain and giant like China. India is exactly like any country other than these ... working transactionally with US. I think Indian leadership has been quite mature to set their expectations at that level.

There are spaces wide open that needs to be filled. Even among family members we have differences. It takes no time to create a bad relation but it takes years to create good relation. Once a good relation turns to bad, it takes even centuries to cure... I am hopeful of having better relations between India and other asian countries and I am thinking positive. What makes you think so negative?

Once again, if you are really a human, use your real name and real photo. Real people do not hide their identity...
Since 2009US is responsible for keeping pak holding back on exporting terror to india.Indians are thus thankful to US otherwise indian govt cares 2 hoots for lives of indians.
