when media owners are not Indian Nationals! when media persons are anti-nationals ! eg: burkha dutt, vicky nanjappa, ajay shukla, unni balakrishnan, and hundreds of MArxist and Pak spies

How true. But they are supported by powerful antinational politicians so even after being exposed they shamelessly come back to 'report'. One such person is Vir Sanghvi who is seen tasting savory food prepared by a Pakistani cook. No wonder these antinational people along Prannoy Roy reportedly pressurised the Govrnment some time ago not to let a Paki Ambassador to India as it would affect the ratings or channel s. Earlier thee media people reduced the police who are required for internal security to shambles by continuously writing against them .Clearly in 65 yrs since independence democracy has benefitted only the antinationals , thugs and criminals and outside countries which support 'demon-cracy' in India.
Every body at the higher ups are paid well off leaving the actual fighting force (Jawans) to their plight and making mockery of this great institution. I hope the higher ups will wake up soon and think of their juniors the actual force(the jawans) and serve the country without bais.
Re: Satyameva Jayate - truth has to come out however bitter it is
by Rajma Rice on Apr 18, 2012 06:25 PM
then why hide truth about cultural annihilation of the country by both m's and c's.
The media has brought up rightly the vacuum of the Indian army. hiding from the truth will not save the country. It is good that things have come to light and maybe some corrective action will be taken. Let us not live on false glory because that way we cannot avoid the inevitable in case of emergency.Let our weakness be expose so that we may strengthen our weakness and build a strong nation to be proud of.

Very true. But I am sure it is one off case of the govt. taking some action. Soon it will be back to square 1.The Army is proffessional but the politicians are NOT.It breaks my heart when I see rusted and old vehicles in olive green running on Indian roads. The army needs equipments. I remember the shabby uniforms and boots of the NSG guys walking the streets of BBY during 26/11 fiasco.Shame on us that we cant look after the ppl who risk life everyday for us.And sadly with so much corruption all around in the society the Army guys too are slipping and we cant blame them. The ARMY cant remain an island..we cant demand it of them.Thats why you see the BSF guy dying in Kashmir and and his brother taking bribe in Bengal. We civilians dont give a damn about them...and they dont give a damn about us...why should they? His blood is sucked for 15-20 years and then he is thrown out with peanuts to fend for himself. honesty is within you...you cant force it upon someone.Nobody makes an exception for him cause he is a soldier. he has to bribe for the land transfer...building sanction. It makes him angry and feel insulted. he is being hammered into submission. Give the soldier his due respect. It is time we all do that. The armed forces still stand apart....police, politicians and the pres have let us down.
And the vote in india will always go to Army...without a doubt....the media has become a tabloid paid mean in India to advance once interest...cannot trust them anymore....and I am sure each patriotic indian will believe in this.....
any doubt...look at arrogance of ndtv presentor, foolishness of star and zee and less said is better for all TOI, express of this world....

I think this is sarcasm against indian scientists and not soldiers. Dont think we engineers have really supported soldiers by creating world class weapons. There is no doubt the indian soldier is still capable of defending the nation.

Dude if you genuinely wanted to know results you would have googled it. Don't try to hide your intentions. Liked the article. Media just wants to sensationalize anything. Indians should really look at US and see how their soldiers are respected. Though they agree their men are fighting unjust war, they rally behind men in uniform. Being a soldier is looked up as the highest position anyone can serve.
Re: Is it true in 1962 we had guns but no ammo against China
by C Datta on Apr 18, 2012 06:31 PM
First soldiers, in summer uniforms, were dropped to fight Chinese in 1962. Many died due to exposer and many more were slaughtered, as they lacked weapons.Read book by Brig. Dalvi titled 'Himalyan Blunder'.How Nehru and his Defence Minister Krishna Menon brought gratest shame to India... it is all there. This book will bring tears to your eyes. After 50 years of that blunder, we have not learnt the lesson and present callouness of politicians has endangered the country once again.
Whatever Mr.Gokhale has quoted from Kautilya was applicable when the society was still evolving. The duties mentioned for a soldier then are applicable for a modern day police, who's only job is to maintain law & order. The was in those days was very primitive, using bow & arrow, swords, elephants and horses. The so called kingdom in those days is equal to the current day's states at best. Now, the dynamics have changed so vastly and with the advent of Nuclear weapons which can annihilate the entire world several times over with the nuclear warheads deployed and ready for destruction (incidentally India alone has about 100 nuclear missiles deployed), any serious war can only be the doom's day for planet earth. In this background, having a heavily fortified defence establishment seems so meaningless. Its yet another avenue for our babus and netas to swindle billions in corruption thru defence deals and for western forces to grease their stagnant economy. Ideally, India should cut down on military spend, invest in R&D to sell new breed of weaponry to smaller countries perpetually in war and make money for local development. India never wanted to wage a war to take over other nations, like the US is doing now (for oil wealth) or the European countries did in the past. But it will not happen 'cos the politicos and entrenched defence honchos wont let go their opportunity to make money, What we have in India is a collusion and nexus between politicians and defence to loot th

Some principles are the same whether you fight with bow and arrows or nukes. What you fail to appreciate is that Kautilya's principles are very relevant even today and the modern soldier is as critical to society as he ever was.
