Regarding topic "Kerala's Catholic Church objects to school textbooks".
Before election,Ommen chandy going to meet sabha, sabha coming to meet oomen chandy,KM Mani going to meet sabha , Sabha going to meet KM Mani,PG Joesph meeting sabha,Sabha distributing pamphlets, sabha meeting PJ Joesph,PJ Joesph meeting KM Mani,Asking for Dy CM.
Similar like Ramesh-NSS-Ramesh-NSS-Ramesh-NSS Kutty-MUlsim Org-Kutty-MUlsim Org etc etc.
At Last,Kerala people decided that 72-68. Saying that enough communal and community influence in Govt.

I already mentioned reply to above statements in previous threads.I don't want to repost and restart this discussion in a loop.
//Mr.Ahamed, I had mixed up; 15000Nairs were butchered byTippuSultan and his troop.
I don't know figures,But Tipu killed Nair soldiers.
Rule of world is that time, expansion of empire.
It is in 17th Century,Like wish of every kingdom is expansion of empire. So Naturally Tipu wants to capture Kerala. It was ruled by samudhoori and soliders are nairs.
Naturally Nair soldiers died during wars between tipu's soldiers and nairs soldiers.

Are you also aware of the forcibleConversions and destructions carried out byTippu? TippuAndHis troopKilled not ony theWarriorNairs but every one and he had issued special instructions not to leave a singleBrahmin. He had committed unspeakable atrocities during 30 years of his occupation of Malahar and had to ultimately flee from Palghat, never to return to Malabar till his death.

The time and space available here is not sufficient for explaining to you. Pl read: "Caicut:TheCityOfTruth"by Prof.M.G.S.Narayanan. You will get the answer. It is a student'sEdition costing just Rs. 100/- (Rs. 80 after discount) and is available at the retail outlet of CalicutUniversity just opp MavoorRoadBusStand.
TheBuddhists think of the well being of all living things (not onlyhumanbeings). The principles of Buddhism (Panchsheel and Eight-fold path) are much more refined than the principles of any other Religion in the world. Still that did not stop the Japanese, predominantly believing in Buddhist non-violence, from committing unspeakable atrocities during W@W-II nor did that stop the SinhaleseBuddhist from committing atrocities on the unarmed civilians inSriLanka very recently.
NoReligion is better than the other. No religion has ever stopped people from committing crimes. More over allReligions have lost their relevance in today's world driven by science and technology.
//Regarding 1921,It was estabhlished in valluvannadu/ernadu taluks as a result of fight against Imperialistic British.
//Ahamed, if it was a fight againstBrisishers why 15,000 Nairs were mercilesslyButchered?
//PlRead GandhiAndAnarchy to know more about that incident.
Dear Carlos,
Mappila riots was result of The Khilafat movement.
The Khilafat movement was a pan-Islamic, political campaign launched by Muslims in British India to influence the British government and to protect the Ottoman Empire during the aftermath of World War I.
It was supported by congress I and Ghandiji. Khilafat and NOn-coperation movement shows unity of hindu-muslims fights aginst british india.
Most of participants in movement is muslim peasants.Landlords in region is hindu Nambuthiri Brahmins. British introduced a new system of land revenue was then introduced for the first time in the history of the region and the government share was fixed on the basis of the actual produce from the land.
It introduced additional burden on peasants. These peaseants are looted by landlords. few miscreants used such time to attack those landlords. It took ugly turn struggle against british turns to communal violence.
British is successful in dividing the community.
I read various prepcetives from mathrubhumi, chinta and muslim writers. But none of them mentioned about 15,000 Nairs were mercilesslyButchered.

No, plRead GandhiAndAnarchy by C.ShankaranNair....... also WagonTragedy (I think it was written by one congress leader called Mr.MadhavanNair)...........thoug it was started as a struggle against the landlords, it soon degenerated into aCommunalRiot.

Ok, having read all those books do you think that the incident had got nothing to do withReligion?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Carlos,Are you mocking again?
by Carlos jackal on May 30, 2011 07:14 PM
There is a book called "IndiaWinsPartition" by one Mr.MohammedKunji, some kind of a parody for IndiaWinsFreedom by AbulKalamAzad where he had tried to pass on the onus for partition to M.K.Gandhi and white-washed M.A.Jinnah. Even he had admitted in his book that theMalabarRiots was indeed a shamefulIncident.

Then why aCaliphate was established at that time?
I know very well that the traditionalMuslims ofMalabar are notReligiousFundamentalists but they were driven insane at that time by theirPriestlyClass.
The ordinaryMuslims were told by theirPriestlyClass(Thangals) that theBritishersBullets will turn toWater and cannot harm them but when they saw widespread deathAndDestruction on deployment ofGorkhaRegiment, they in fact turned against theirTheThangals.
CaliphateSystem was formally abolished by Mustafa Kemal Atarurk in 1924. TheKhilafat movement was against abolition ofCaliphateSystem and 1921Riots inMalabar was also a part of the same.
