creation and especially our earth with humans is like 1 big software project. we are all mini programs written
by one or who knows many programmers. we are just mechanical biological programs created for a purpose and then discarded
the project is creating a super intelligence (which is presently developing thru WWW and the internet) this intelligence wil not require hardware silicon base in future
humans and biological life will b discarded. then this super intelligence will travel unhindered thru the universe...but we still dont know the final purpose and who is it all being created for
i.e. who is the END USER CLIENT as they say in IT world. all the intelligent persons among us already realise this world is matrix (maya). all a play a Leela. imagine the world in FF , nothing exists even the planets and suns so what about us puny tiny humans
we dont really exist so who are v to think about heaven and hell . this is al the EGO of individual mortal selfish humans acting like robots being driven by their gene/DNA programs.

The thread was used as a first-aid in case of snake-bites. Tie the thread above the portion where the snake had bitten to prevent spreading venom to other parts of the body. Those who were not wearing "cross-belt" were wearing the same around their waist.

then why is it worn only after certain age. Why add divinity to it. Y use only white color threads. I don't think women wear it what about their safety.

Please don't keep creating reasons

Others wear around their waist; in my childhood even I was forced to wear that. And the answer given by me is the Scientific reason. I am not joking.

Science and Religion are two sides of coin. One cannot exist without other. Scientist doesn't meant that he (she) knows everything.

Religion is based on beliefs and assumptions.Science is based on hard reality. The two shall never meet.
Also, it is very easy to raise questions but very tough to answer them.Hence religion is escapism.

I will partially accept yours. Do you know one thing, for every religious practice in Hindu there is strong scientific reason or proof behind it.. I am sorry if I am too specific with my Religion. I am not that much sure with other religions.

In fact other communities used to wear the thread too...only in the last 100 years the practice has gone away. Even now in villages, some of the other community members wear the thread

Friend pls find below:
(I got from the reliable source)
Every married women used to get a Mangalsutra, which is known as Thali in Tamil and Thirumangalyam amongst srivaishnavas. This is mostly made in gold as an identifiable mark for married women. This too is believed to regularize a women's blood circulation. This is also said to control the body pressure levels to a maximum extent, as Indian women tend to work hard, more than her male counterpart. The most important thing to note about this Thirumangalyam is, that it should always be hidden or covered in the inner garments. Just because of the constant friction of the metal gold touching the body portion directly, the effect will be more to gain the said benefits. However, if the same is worn outside the clothes and making it visible to everyone, then the effect is reduced. That's why it is always advisable to wea the Thirumangalyam known as Thali or Mangalsutra inside the blowse and not to show off.

Please note that there are millions of ancestors who lived before us. We have to accept certain old traditions followed by them. I think it is not that much fare by going along with the fast moving world and forgetting the glorious past. Every religion flourished only for the welfare of the people.

No Scientist has ever claimed that he knows every thing. It is religious people who act like 'know-it-all's and expect other to believe what ever they say without questioning

Belief
by Tom Dick on May 18, 2011 08:34 PM  | Hide replies

Average person (not talking about scientists like Hawkings) find solace in his beliefs. For him, his belief in an unknown power, gives the inspiration to lead a good life. So, whether there is God or no God, doesn't matter if he/she can feel happy. Afterall if this state of mind gives comfort to human beings, why bother? Big bang and evolutions are all wonderful theories for further studies. But it all leads to one point that ' who created the substances' for the big bang ! Story of a conversation between a scientist and God goes like this. Scientist, " I can create a man from the mud" and started to pick up the mud to create a man and God told him, " hold on man! make your own mud before you create man"

well said!

no one is bothered about what u believe as long as u don't start forcing ur belief on others....

if non believers go to hell, that is their problem.
why should one make it an issue???????

pls let people decide where they want to go(after life) by themselves.
