Tamil Nadu Feebies
by ramanarayanan sambamurthy on Apr 01, 2011 11:06 AM

When such feebies are announced, Why, Congress which, claims to be a National Party, and an Alliance Partner with DMK keeps mum. Then thereafter PM and UPA Chair Person come with a logic that this is Coalition Philosophy. Again, Why CPI & CPI(M), which are partners to AIADMK, do not insist on the Left Front Government in West Bengal to announce such feebies. What about the people in rest of the country. If both AIADMK and DMK can give mixer grinder, fan, laptop to the Tamil Nadu, why other States are not coming forward to give such feebies to the people of their State. Either the feebies in Tamil Nadu should be stopped or such feebies should be made available to people of the entire country, because for the crime of residing in other States we should not be deprived of such comfort. Do not forget DMK Government has already distributed Portable Colour Television to the People of Tamil Nadu

Great Tamil Politicians...
by Chandrasekar S on Apr 01, 2011 09:48 AM  | Hide replies

Both the parties very keen to get the power. The election manifesto clearly says that they want keep the poor tamilian as beggers for free rice, etc., And they don't allow the people to think and if they allow also people don't have enough time to spare, because they still fighting for the free colour tlevision.

Both the parties didn't even move a single millimeter to have any developmental activities for the state (Except their families).

It is nice if they make the common man capable to buy a LCD TV / Rs 40 per kg rice / Own house rather than uselecc tv, rottened rice etc...

And at the end where is the money from? The poor tax payer?? 2G, 3G........
If you want all frrebies.. don't blame such type of scams??

Dear fellow Indians.. have little time for yourself and next generation...

Un Interrupted electricity
by Tamilan on Apr 01, 2011 12:20 AM  | Hide replies

This is BS, Govt doesn't have to give fan or washing machine, it has to give un interrupted electricity. These freebies in Tamil nadu is taking corruption to next level. Making people also corrupt.

When a politician announces free gifts and seeks votes, he does not JUST bribe (insult?) the voter. He is making a sinister plan to amass money for himself too.

Anybody who thinks that ANY POLITICIAN has kindness or love for him and is tempted to vote is naive, to put it mildly.

EC
by Tamil Indian on Apr 01, 2011 12:18 AM

EC please take note of this thing - why there is no action for this thing from EC? Something needs to be done otherwise the entire state is going to go down under the weight of the freebies.
I think EC should say political parties cannot announce freebies as part of campaign.

freebies in tamil nadu
by sumitra das on Mar 31, 2011 10:39 PM  | Hide replies

the max of voters in tamilnadu esp those in the slums - and with the help of corrupt politicians, tamilnadu is turning out to be asia's biggest slum - would prefer the fan to the washing machine. they are not bothered about cleanliness and personal hygiene in something that they have never heard in their lifetime. one just has to go around the slum clearence flats built by the govt. each flat comes with its own toilet, but once the slum dwelling family shifts to the flat than they immediately retire to the neighbourhood to defecate. one just has to reach chennai in one of the morning trains and one better not look out of the window. the sight with the stench is unbearable. so the slum dwelling tamilians do not care for products that will improve their hygiene! they would prefer to have something which will give them a clear atmosphere when they are enjoying with their second or third wife or their different concubines!

Dont know why everybody has to take this hygiene thing litteraly. But tamilnadu is inching towards poverty and filled with educated fools. It is going the direction of other backward states in india and not growing even though sizable population of the state is literate. TN people have to ask is that what they deserve. We cannot clean india if each state doesnot think of cleaning the political and local system. let us join together instead of saying which city or state is more worse. sometimes wonder why this regionalism if we are not india we could not have defeated other countries in cricket match. Atleast remember that

miss das, if you know chennai and TN so well then have you seen the other side , most bengalis come to this slum of asia to work and get cured in the famous hospitals. I have seen many bengalis as doctors in Sankara nethralaya and big beeline of patients from roshagulla state also. all for slums and from slums. Most of the construction workers are also from your place. Which politician is not corrupt in india and u mean to say ur bangla politicos are out of Harishchandra's kamandalu ?? dont categorise something because u saw something wrong in one corner.Your calcutta is infested with population and u mean to say they dont go to releive themselves in open in west bengal at all. so stop your mockery and look back how clean is ones own butt before pointing out others cleanliness.
Try to whipe out this whole corruption across the nation rather than compare individual states. I do agree its becoming a big monpoly of politics in the ruing in TN , where is sense prevailing in any politicians in this country. If raja was pulled up for 2G scam , i dont belive it can be possible to such an extent without centre being fed its share.Stop giving stupid comments based on region and be more responsible. I suppose you being from the most clean, tidy and least populus state in country know the difference between being a literate like you and what is being educated.
