Devdutt Nayak
National Knowledge Commission
by Devdutt Nayak on Mar 27, 2011 03:01 PM

Has the National Knowledge Commission come up with a implementation plan for cultivation of famine foods in flood and drought affected areas.

It can be done.
It has been done.
It needs to be done.

Google for "Famine Foods"

Education in rural India in the form of cultural plays and new festivals, games or customs to encourage rural people to gain expertise in cultivating famine foods.

Eating leaves and surviving is better than dying of malnutrition.

If the Govt cannot properly distribute Indian grains to hungry Indian people, then to hell with the Govt.

At least we can teach them to live on leaves, fruits and seeds.

Even if 1 per cent of the 10s of lakhs of people who die every year due to hunger and malnutrition is reversed, it will be a headline story, and election campaign, and a success celebration.

India is a permanent famine/flood land

with deforestation and climate change it is going to become worse.

So a permanent awareness campaign is needed.

something as popular and fundamental as Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav.

Or as fundamental as Diwali or Onam.

Now we cannot summon saints to slay demons for us, their selfish choice.

But we can surely institute other cultural systems - cricket is an example, Gabbar Singh is another example.
Famine foods must be so well-known.

Can the NKC think of a scheme for this?

I was shell shocked to see some of you abusing Mr. Pitroda. Do you guys even have a clue of what this great man is? He is a valuable gem this great nation has given birth. A decade ago, I had the rare opportunity of working with him and his team on a mobile application. It was unbelievable an experience. Genius, Innovator, inventor, idea bank...I lack words to describe this man. At the least Indians should credit him with the title of Father of telecom revolution. All the leaps we have made in that realm owes a lot to this visionary. Just look at his schedule, he slogs like anything to do his work.

Only reason I can see why you guys abuse him is because he works for UPA. Had he been working for BJP, the very same people would have called him a saint. Its sad to see many of your labouring hard day & night to be the mouth pieces of politicians. Grow up and think for yourselves rather than be the pallbeares of these rotten politicians.

Im shell shocked to see some of the comments made by people in this forum abusing Mr. Pitroda. Do you guys even have a clue of what he is. He is one of the rare gems this country produced. Since my company was involved in a joint venture with him years back, I happened to have the rare opportunity of working closely with this gentleman and his team. He is a gem this ocuntry has produced. Innovator, inventor, idea bank, genius. I lack words to describe him. At the least, he is the father of India's telecom revolution and should be credited for all the good things that happened to this country in that realm.

Only reason I can see why some of the people here are abusing him is because he works for the UPA ministry. Had it been BJP ministry, you guys would have made it a saint. Its sad,to see some of you working hard day and night in these rediff forums as mouth pieces of political caucuses. Detach yourself from the clutches of these cr00k politicians and think for yourselves.

Sam Pitroda is a great man
by akshay k on Mar 26, 2011 01:38 PM  | Hide replies

Sam Pitroda is responsible for much of the progress in technology in India. He resigned as Chairman of National Knowledge Commission when reservations for OBCs were introduced by scumbag Arjun Singh. However, I dont like the trust he has placed in a useless fellow like Veerapa Moily to reform the law system. Throughout his career, Veerapa Moily has only talked and never performed. Sam, to clear those 3 crore cases, you will need somebody else as law minister

I am not sure if I should even laugh at your ignorance !

Sometimes, even to be worthy of participating in a debate on forum, one should have basic GK.

Just ability to type is not good enough.
