Sam, glad to note you are very busy and things are not at stand still. You did a great job in ushering in India several decades back the modern telecommunication system under Rajiv and changed the entire face of this country in that field. Indians will always be eternally greatful to you for that. If more such things are in the offing from your end we will thank the LORD for sending someone like you to us. Please keep up the good work

Mr. Krishnan: you talk about you. You have no right to talk on behalf of Indian. How do you know what the Indians are think of this man. You can worship him. Nobody will question you.

very few Indians are aware of the service rendered by Sam Pitroda. That doesn't lessen the sheen of his service to millions by changing the face of telecom in India. Hence, lets not jump to disrespectful conclusions. Its time we honored behind the scenes personalities like Pitroda and Sreedharan
This reminds me of a "Flop Show" episode by Jaspal Bhatti. Bhatti is a bureaucrat who does nothing but attend meetings all day long - and finally chairs a meeting to decide the date of the next meeting. This is hailed as a great achievement by the local press.
My advice to the author of this article - please pull your head out of your you know what and grow a brain. Look around. The rest of the world did quite a lot that day - and no we didn't go to meetings all day long.

Part of the reason why you and I could use telephones some years ago traces back to Sam Pitroda. Read what he did for indian telecom. Goodle or Wiki. You will get an idea. And next time before blindly criticising, atleast google the name of the person in question.

Pull your head out of your a-- and think. Telecom in India took off only after they allowed private players in the wireless sector. That was in 1998, 15 years after this guy. Under this guy, there were only land lines. Even today land lines suck.
If you have 2 brain cells left after kissing his a--, please think before you write.

Sam has more than 100 patents to his credit, dude, check your facts before you start talking about this great and selfless person

NRIs value the Indian passport more than the people who have never crossed India's border and lived in a foreign country.
This kind of journalism is useful and informative. As citizens of India we need to know about the silent do'ers like Mr. Pitroda. I remember when I was kid, Mr. Pitroda was close to then PM Rajiv Gandhi and he led the IT and Telecommunication revolution in India. Today the $70 B IT industry and worlds fasted growing Tele industry is fruit of hard work of Mr. Pitroda and late Mr. Gandhi. Now I live in US and work in Finance but my roots are in IT and started in India, in many ways I owe it to him. Way to go!
Food Bank idea is noble and in the right direction to have a hunger free country. "Bhuuka Paat Bhajan Nam Ho Gopaala" to unleash intellectual capital we need to have well fed kids.

When you and I spend our times criticising the corruption and doing nothing else, why do we criticise Sam for using his time for other useful things than just sitting and criticising?
