Why do you think yahoo finance is the final authority for any news? I am not saying rediff is, but it is you who for some reason seems to have too much faith in YF! CNN has has the news about Nuclear blast.

MAHARASHTRA CM MR.CHAVAN SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF
by arun naik on Mar 12, 2011 06:38 PM  | Hide replies

what a disaster in Japan by nature. Human beings have disturbed the balance of nature and in turn people are facing this problems. When we have ample quantity of water wasted in sea in Kokan area where we could not provided yet water to all konkan people. why we could not preserve water which could have been used for producing electricity. but this requires willingness, honesty and patriotic. The vested interest in Government and beaurocracy have only object of money, money and money at any cost.

Does your CHOUHAN even know the "N" of Nuclear. A leak to him means a run to the lavatory.

How apt it is to say, "When India is burning, Kangress is busy dancing to the tune of Muslim Fiddle."

you are seeing only one bad effect of nuclear power. Hydroelectric can be more dangerous. what if a dam breaks loose, all the people downstream will die. anyway coal fired powerplants add to the pollution and global warming can kill millions through climate change, entire artic cap will melt, so is our himalyan glaciers which feeds our rivers and inturn keeps our food security.

yes that may not happen in a decade or two but it will happen for sure.

instead of outright rejection of one technology we should go for a thoroughly safe method of power generation

i am not supporting nuclear power it has consequence in other ways of radio waste (and proliferation risk)

but sighting one example rejcting one method is not good.

we should go for alternate safe power generation with judicious use of energy.

Where the fk did you get that 'at least 100 KM area' figure from ? And what a fking sh^thead knows about Nuclear explosion ?

Explosion of Nuclear reactor does not mean 'explosion' of an IED. It does not 'explode'. It leaks. Read again fking moron.

When Chernobyl accident happened , it affected every one in the vicinity of 1500 miles. Period. Its slow.

The radiation will emanate and travel all through the space unless proper measures are taken.

Fortunately Japanese safety measures are good. So idiots like you who have internet access and post garbage on things which they have no clue are saved.

You fking dumb idiots are the biggest threat to India than a nuclear explosion.

Reactor explosion is not an atomic explosion. It is an explosion caused by extreme heat due to loss in cooling system. Therefore these explosions result in atomic material being strewn about widely but not what you fear due to a real atomic explosion (like atom bomb).

Those who are abusing this gentleman should understand a basic fact. Any problem occurring to a nuclear power plant makes the chain reaction unstable & out of control & which may lead to enhanced radiation in the surroundings which itself is powerful enough to destroy biologically the surrounding area.

All over the world all scientists are saying Nuclear power is clean . Our country's top scientists are saying the same. Now what had happened to Japanwith their sophisticated systems. It is better to search for renewable engergy source. Now at least we should wake up. Now perils of nuclear energy is known to every body.

Are you some cow dung or some fking psedo intellectual trying his hand (hope you are a male) being satirical ?

Do you understand that every thing you enjoy today - computer, refrigerator, Non stick cooking, Gas stoves, Internet, Cars ( and DiCor too), Cable TV, Wrinkle free cloths, Your electronic ID checker, Credit card monitor...every thing was invented OUTSIDE India ?

And you use them to abuse people who gave you ?

every home should be equipped with manual hand operated electricity generator. Just like field telephones of the army. All the fat people will get together and generate electricity and lose weight at the same time. It will solve unemployment problem and obesity problem all in one shot.

by raghavajd on Mar 12, 2011 06:19 PM  | Hide replies

What will happen to people who buy properties and apartments in Mumbai , Chennai, Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata and so on ?

Entire Japan gone in JUST two hours.

I mean JAPAN is the most sophisticated country in the world as far as technology is concerned ( I lived there for two years).

If it happens in Mumbai, lol. You just go to Himalayas and become Sadhu ( I mean if you are alive).

In Himalayas , no one buys a PROPERTY for 50 lacs and there are NO Towers and there are NO POST complexes and THERE Are no fking prestigious areas.

Most importantly , If an earth quake happens in the himalayas , may be 1% of the people will die. That would be like may be 10 or 15 people. That is still bad.

But in the POST , PRESTIGIOUS place like Mumbai , one tsunami at 2 AM ?

3.6 crore people die and die without knowing.

And all the property , all investment, children , plans, dreams, all up in air.

So just pray and keep praying.

That includes you and your family too I mean that 3.6 crore people. This is a bitter fact. We ignore it. So chalta hai.
