Churchill was right!
by sudhakar roberts on Mar 03, 2011 05:06 AM  | Hide replies

Do you think Churchill was wrong in saying at the time of Indian independence which he opposed 'in twentyfive years thugs and thieves will take over this country' - I think it took less time than his prediction!

Unfortunately people are too naive. Especially in TN. If you appear in a movie then you can run for the election and win too.
Vote bank politics resulted in quota system that favours the MAJORITY casts (OBCs and MBCs)
People's stupidity led to actors becoming CMs.
and now paying people for votes has become too popular (i guess that 1.76lakh crore comes in handy here).
Now that the elections are around the corner roads get laid and petrol's sales tax gets reduced...
the most difficult part is people see this and they say like "at least now they are doing this/that"...

Raja is only a scapegoat! Even Supreme Court know this.
by Raja Ismail on Mar 03, 2011 04:47 AM  | Hide replies

Raja is only a scapegoat, even SC know this I think. But, SC or CAG or even Swamy the Clown, can't go after Big Guns, and so they are all beating up on the easy target RAJA, since it is easy and joyful, more so, since he is a Dalit.

When there is no correlation between crime and punishment, then corruption seeps.
like when a guy commits multiple murders you jail him for 14 years!!!. Ridiculous.

this political system is broken and is compromised in all levels.

This system's objective is to make the audience(you and me) feel better when a heinous is done by some one. Despite the peachy outlook of our society as a whole, what lies underneath is complete chaos.
Only a matter of time before hell breaks loose.

I think you are not a Indian national or if you are one, you dont deserve to be one. Do you mean to say that a dalit is a licenced thug?

Do you mean to say that since Raja is a dalit he should not be made a target. Raja was a cabinet minister at the centre and is being arrested because he made illlegal deals not because he was a dalit. What you are saying sounds like "Ulta Chor Kotwl ko Daate"

When People gave power to MMS....
by hiral joshi on Mar 03, 2011 02:23 AM  | Hide replies

why did he not act against arrogance and corruption of Raja? This shows PM is a meek person and doesnt deserve full support of people unless he sheds the clutches of his party persident and coalition politics.

Why is SC worried about the tone of a letter?
by Raja Ismail on Mar 03, 2011 12:48 AM  | Hide replies

Whats the problem with the SC, going into the tone of the letter from Raja to PM. It is for the PM to be worried/upset about it, not SC. SC has already been mislead by Clown Swamy on a imaginary loss in CAG report. It got itself sunk knee deep by Swamy's tricks. It wants to save face for what it did to Raja, and trying to find fault with everything he did, including 'tone of letter'. How can there be justice if SC looks at the content of the letter. I would think SC should be looking into the context, not the content.

If a man in MMS's position lets himself be treated like sh!t like that then it must be because of one of the following reasons
1.He's a wimp who wouldn't stand up to sonia/allies
2.has inferiority complex
3.the other person 'holds your balls' metaphorically i.e the person knows something you dont want others to know

personally i think it is all the above.
now that the JPC is here (not saying that the panel members are better than MMS or raja) they may have a swing at his balls too.

This is a joke
by Suresh John on Mar 03, 2011 12:41 AM  | Hide replies

SC is making silly statements. I don't know how this helps in bringing justice ?

The corruption should be the main issue and not what was written in the letter.

Now - what if there is a real situation where the PM is pushing for a policy that favors only a few, and the minister is trying to give a chance to all? Should the minister write sweet and polite words just because the PM is older and more senior?

We have heard enough about Raja's letter to the PM. If the PM seriously felt that minister was doing something wrong, why did he allow that to go on ?? Doesn't he have authority by Constitution to overrule? Instead, he chose to be a meek spectator, so that the coalition could go on for the full term. In short, the PM chose to continue in power, allowing the country to face further losses.

Agreed. Going by the speed in which the PM talks and his office functions.....Raja would have struck all deals and pocted all money by then.....:-) This is ridiculous
