The best thing that MMS can do is to quit. The country and he had enough of each other. To be remembered as multiple million scandals(MMS) PM will do him more harm.

PM Must Be Directly Elected
by Gopi Menon on Jun 12, 2011 02:49 PM  | Hide replies

Asia , Africa and Middle East figures very high on the world corruption map. These cultures are highly relations driven, not systems driven. So if somebody is a minister,or an sdministrator,or even a leader, there will be hundreds of his kith and and kin who will be "scheming" projects to make money for the benefit of all his relatives and friends.

Also people are promoted as leaders for the same reason and ,again, people compete to become leaders only because of these potential "money making schemes".

Lokpal will not be able to get rid of that culture, instead, itself will end up as a beneficiary in the corruption ring.Adding more number of people thus in the corruption ring will increase the amount "flicked' by each and will raise the corruption index in the long run..

Best solution is to have Directly elected Prime Minister and President who will be contesting without political affiliationm but on a development debate conducted across all states.

I will never accept PM post
by Rajendra Gupta on Jun 12, 2011 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

MM singh is not helpless PM.He is very cunning and a dishonest ex babu who is enjoying perks of PM post that too after retirement. The only example in world.MM Singh knew every well he has no public career and did not fight any election. He also knew he is being posted as PM as Sonia can't take over PM chair in India. He was set up as a puppet. He flaunts his PhD papert degree and poses as economist expert. But he is fraudulent expert.300% price rise, 800% in property , rampant corruption, non accountability of babudom and no action on them are his gifts to country in 7 years. He has no remorse, guilt and shame. He continues hotting PM seat for Rahul and fake Gandhi family. Is not he like Mir Zafar who surrendered before british without fighting to become Nawaab of calcutta and helped in massacre of thousands of soldiers by british.Singh did same thing on 4th June.cruel and grossly illegal state violence on Ram Lila Ground
Singh is total Zero and a traitor in my view and his performance. He should be thrown out.We need to make new government even if we have to go for elctions. This is a corrupt government of oppotunists and corrupt who are looting country with internal and external sharks.India is under foreign rule.MM singh can never be exonerated. He will have to answer to Akhal Takht and finally to god.How loa person can stoop for desigantions and luxury.

Now India has 2 Presidents Mr. M M Sngh and Pratibha Patil. Also our Home Minister lookinh after not our country but his party only. There is no statment from him after Baba Ramdev arrest but immediately after Baba announce 11000 army which people of india do not like. First media must ban Mr. Digvijay Singh as he does not have the sense to talk.

I agree the price rise in last 7 yrs of MM Singhs rule is

300% in prices of commodoties

800% in property...real estate is where most corrupt hawala money is invested by politicians...

if Anna succeds the real estate price which are unreal will fall to one third of present price..just like onion prices fallen from 50Rs to 10 Rs...
this is all due to real Estate mafia supported by corrupt lobby investing their money from swiss bank deposits

Concerned Indian
..
by Concerned Indian on Jun 12, 2011 02:46 PM

The Indian middle class by and large are selfish people and emotional people.....these 2 traits are incompatible with democracy. They prefer to live in their own make believe world and aspiring for the next better house, car or a green card (many prefer their second class status in a western country rather than living in their own country and volunteering to remove the corruption here). The politicians so far have cleverly exploited this.

But now it looks like the trend is changing. More of the middle class is coming out on the streets and demanding clean up..If this trend continues, India will become just like any western nation in 10 years time in terms of quality of governance and infrastructure and equitable distribution of wealth. Every Indian then will be proud of holding an Indian Passport.

Being Eternally vigilant is the price we pay for living in a Democracy

Original Honest PM
by Rationalist on Jun 12, 2011 02:37 PM

If there was ever a honest PM especially from Congress it was none other than Lal Bahadur Shastri. But was soon put to rest by Madam. MMS is no honest. He only pretends to be one.
