Yes, he just turns a blind eye to massive corruption taking place all around him. 'I didn't do it. Everyone else is doing it and I cant do anything despite being prime minister', is his position.

If he can't do anything, he should resign and allow someone else to clean the house.

The problem with PM is he thinks like Western minds where confess will be treated as high moral and appreciated (forgiveness) where as in India it is other way around (punishment).

In the past Indian History, none of the Govt has taken any action against his own minister to send him jail under corruption case. He wanted to showcase his Govt is clean and fair but unfortunately his Govt is getting very bad name due to his fair act. In India, few people consider themselves as 'Saint' next to GOD and claim the rest as corrupted untouchables.

Ramalinga Raju (Ex: CEO of Satyam) made a confess about his wrong doing and now he is in the Jail for the past 2 years without Bail. PM has to learn some political ethics to get rid of the bad name created by his 'clean act' to this current Govt.

This new trend in India of having nominated PMs and CMs is very dangerous for our democracy. The nominated PM/CM has no real power put in to warm the seat, while the undercover PM/CM has no accountability...

If this trend continues, India will be ruled by proxy PMs/CMs. It is better to shift to a presidential form of Govt or its variation , where the head of government is directly elected by the people. This can also be implemented in a Parliamentary form of democracy where each political party has to declare its choice of PM/CM before the election, and once elected the PM/CM cannot be replaced until the term is over or the PARTY looses majority support.

Dubious record of our PM - constitution needs amendment
by Ram Sharma on Jun 12, 2011 02:22 PM  | Hide replies

Our PM has a dubious record of being PM for last 7 yrs having lost the only election he fought. He had never been given Loksabha ticket by Sonia since 2004. She does not want a strong PM. She is ruling the country by remote control but without any responsibility. It is a peculiar situation in our democracy. Constitution must b amended to make it compulsory for a PM to get elected to Loksabha within 6 months, if he is not already so elected.

corruption starts from home to town ,distric and upward state level. to whom to blame? It is not time to call kala angrez or kala gandhi to anybody, just to show his/her anger.

Why to name anybody? Anyone who is elected is ok.

by Rationalist on Jun 12, 2011 02:12 PM  | Hide replies

MMS is not a honest PM. His Kit & Kin have used his power to develop and enlarge their businesses. Also he is holding on to a chair which he does not deserve. Congress produced only one honest PM in 63 years but soon took him back.

Constitution presumed that PM will always be elected and hence no provision was made to have it mandatory that PM should always born indian and elected for the loksabha. It is shame that we have a nominated PM for 7 long years now
