As far as people are concerned matter is opened MR. PC
by nitmohan on Nov 01, 2011 10:37 PM

INDIA has been reeling under 50 years of misrule by the CONGRESS Party governments, and now the UPA again. With rampant corruption in the COUNTRY, governance has taken a back seat and criminals are calling the shots. There are no new power plants.

Now, under the CONGRESS, public sector companies are being sold to private sector at throwaway prices. There is a total lack of governance, with no law and order in the COUNTRY. People are fed up of caste, communalism and corruption in politics. This is the right opportunity for the BAHUJAN SAMAJ PARTY to stage a major comeback.

I am confident that if we select candidates properly and have a targeted election campaign, we can make it. We are aiming to form the government.

BAHUT. SUNDAR. PARTY.

2G spectrum bungling
by premshanker gupta on Sep 29, 2011 08:28 PM

How can the expected truce between the Home and Finance Minister wash off the sin of the Govt as a whole in scuttling the auction of 2G Spectrum
which certainly could have brought much more money to Govt Exchequer than selling the Spectrum at old 2001 price and that too by adopting various manipulative tactics?
How can they deem the Govt their own property and take prejudicial decisions in the name
Of policies of NDA GOVT? . ARE THEY FOLLOWING BLINDLY ALL THE POLICIES OF NDA GPOVT?
AND WILL they agree to sell their properties on date at 2001 prices?

Corruption is favouring the few at the cost of the many
by Argumentative Indian on Jul 26, 2011 09:37 AM  | Hide replies

The media has earlier reported that under A. Rajaji's leadership, the telecom ministry arbitrarily PRE - PONED the cut off date to bid for the bidding / tender process. IF this is true, then it has perverted the process to reduce competition.

Any criminal naturally tries to obfuscate the issue to his / her advantage.

Not auctioning the licenses is not at all, the crime / corruption here. Rather changing the date for submission of tender arbitrarily, changing terms and conditions including earnest money deposit times etc. to suit some parties at the cost of others is the crime. Any money that has been paid by the favored companies to the accused or his / her associates is the corruption.

Shri A. Raja was working for himself and his party. The telecom prices are low, incidentally, in the present method of corruption, which Shri A. Raja is accused of having followed.
If there had been no corruption, then perhaps the telecom prices would have been even lower?

The other cases like mining etc. are also going to be opened up very soon. The people of India are fed up of tolerating corruption.

The Congress Government headed by a most corrupt and dishonest PM Manmohan Singh has the guts to to say that they are are not aware of either 2G scam of 1.7lk crore or any black money in banks abroad while the banks themselves have spit on PM's face with the information that $2.5 billion is in their country. Without acting on this information by verifying the facts and doing the needful to bring back the money the Government is indulging in denial of any information. Shameless creatures. It is time they let go the Power at the centre and join NGREA for their daily livelihood.

Business Analysis of 2G case is necessary
by johnson Singh on Jul 26, 2011 08:16 AM  | Hide replies

Media is completely ignoring thy business side of the 2G issue:

1. If spectrum is given by Auction - only existing players will be able to get it...They can quote a high price to avoid new entrants..Less competition and higher price....Already we have seen an increase in mobile tariff by Airtel

2. Raja did the right thing by giving spectrum to new players..Lock in period (removed by the NDA regim in 1999 - correctly since the environment at that time was different) should have been there from beginning...Government has correctly amended the license condition....

2. CBI has a poor case...NO corruption till date has been established....An Inter corporate loan at market interst rate cannot be corruption...It was unsecured is of no commercial value when you are lending to a well known group...

4. PM appears to be unsure whether there was corruption or not....It would have been better for him to have defended raja...

Re: Business Analysis of 2G case is necessary
by ashish anand on Jul 26, 2011 09:21 AM
Media is not ignoring the business side at all. It's just keeping its own business side in view. The business of Media is based upon TRPs which comes from creating Hype and not presenting a case on merits. Are you guys aware that Arthur Anderson was judged as "Not Guilty" by the supreme court in US several years after its business had to be folded and 28,000 of its employees had to go. But the media by that time had moved on and never accepted guilt in negatively influencing pucblic opinion which led a jury to wrongly pronounce the firm guilty.

Further, An economic policy of Govt. can't focus upon revenue maximization to govt. only as the money ultimately comes out of Citizen's pocket. If lower infrastrcuture cost results in low call cost to citizens, the subsequent impact on economy of such low telecom cost has be to kept in mind for designing any govt. policy and that is what has been followed in this country since NTP,1999. Raja can not be held guilt on that account. The CAG has only talked about revenue maximization without calculating the impact of cheap call rates on economic growth.

However, there is another aspect of this 2G allocation and that is of procedures and propriety. Raja appears, prima facie, to have not followed sound procedures and have failed to keep himself at an arm's length. Hence, if he has favoured somebody over other misusing his office, he shall be prosecuted for that.
