Yes you are right, these "students" new this was shady, dubious university - it is exactly what they wanted. They are getting everything they deserve! Why does "American Telugu Association" want to help criminals?

I believe members of "American Telugu Association" want to give back to society that at some point helped them as well.

ya.. why not, andhra people work hard and smart ... and US encourage bright and smart people unlike India where blaming things based on region cast and all non sense...
What is the proof Indian government has to support the claim that the students were duped. Or is it just assumption. Any information about owners of the university? If all of them were innocent, why did they give wrong address?a
Working in Subway or 7/11 stores do not fetch more than $10 an hour ! So these guys paid lakhs to work 12-15 hrs to ear $150 a day .and spend $30 a day to survive in i human conditions with constant fear of getting caught ! I don't understand the equation. It only the Indian's love for USA that pull them there. And they can boast to their relatives "Amrika mein hai beta"!
why will you risk your lives doing such things? - Hopefully such exposes act as a deterrent in the future. I hope too that all return to their families without any issues.
I don't think even a single student enrolled without knowing the background/Illegal to work with Student visa. They joined to earn money using illegal way. They were baptized and enrolled in to university. They earned lot of money working outside. But we need to remember one thing. It is not India to forgive for your false deeds. In U.S.A, you can not escape after wrong doings. I am in staying in U.S and noticed that. the law is very tough. Beware my dear friends! those who want to enter U.S with fake degrees and experience. Once you are caught, you are gone...

Thanks for noticing this anomaly in the title. These students illegally paid bribes to acquire visa status and now that they are caught, Indian media wants to project them as victims. They are the villains!
