Oil Adulteration
by rahul vyas on Jan 31, 2011 10:48 AM  | Hide replies

I had already mentioned in my Saturday feed back that such a large scale adulteration of Kerosene is not possible without the involvement of politicians and my fear has come true. The report by the retired gentleman and the subsequent transfer of key people in the said case is a testimony to that.

Of course, we cannot expect much from Congress government. Corruption and Congress go hand in hand and seeking clean and fair governance from a recognized corrupt institute is asking too much.

Is it any surprise that no actions are ever even thought of by politicos and administration against anything that is anti-public unless something extreme happens? Now that public opinion as well as protests of govt. employees are going much against the administration a pretention of action is taking place.

It seems that you have missed his lessons though.

Nangababa Mahatma taught us Satyagrah, Non co-operation, Do or Die. He got the masses to revolt against an oppressive regime in a non-violent manner. His methods may not have resulted in short term revolution, but in the long run they proved to be more effective. Just look at Pakistan and you will realise the futility of arousing passions which come back to haunt you.

Goodness does not necessarily come only from violent revolutions.

Agreed.. but what if Satyagrah and non-violence is not effective... don't forget Bhagat Singh, Azad, Batukeshwar and many more martyrs... they also contributed equally rather more for our nation... actually we should not stick to a particular ideology but should act according to situation or conditions prevailing

I agree that we should act according to situation and sometimes it may become inevitable to hit back violently. But that should be an exception.

There is a tendency to go for instant solution by resorting to violence. People want instant results. They don't have the patience for a long term solution even if it is more rational and in their own interest. That's human nature.

Politicians are of course adept at exploiting this tendency. Whether it is BJP or Congress, all political parties offer short term solutions to their respective vote banks.

Gandhi had no vote bank. He had a vision for the country and always took decisions which would benefit indians in the long run. That's the quality of a statesman.

100% agreed.. even no party or politician joined the movement and this reveals the actual character and concern of our great leaders/politicians for common people and common cause. Actually leaders or politicians have fear that if this movement is succeeded, they will be nowhere. To my utter surprise the so called sabse tez, sachha, and fast news channels did not join the movement rather they should have actively participated and spread the message amongst their viewers...

People in Maharashtra consider outsiders their Enemy
by Haatim on Jan 31, 2011 10:29 AM  | Hide replies

but in reality their own men are their biggest enemy. Remember when MNS went on a rampagne locals got killed. Remember 26/11 because of stupidity of Home minister was very weak locals got killed. Abu Azmi threatens locals nothing is done. Shahrukh insults locals Ashok chavan protects him. Adarsh scam and mhada scam LOCALS denied their right. Builders lobby bribe the netas locals dont get housing at reasonable price. Oil mafia was run in support of central minister from maharashtra sonawane got killed.

Its for people to decide who are their biggest enemies

Government is the Mafia
by Vijay Sahani on Jan 31, 2011 10:25 AM

It's wrong to say government knew all along that pilferage was being done by oil mafia and sat on it for 15 years.

reality is that the government is the mafia. It's no longer the situation that government protects the criminals. Criminals have infiltrated the government and they are synonymous now.

Famous words from Godfather III : Crime and Politics are same things.... Crime is like a gun, politics is knowing when to pull the trigger.
