Revolt ?
by satishgs on Jan 27, 2011 05:12 PM  | Hide replies

Hi

There is very remote possibility of this happening in Saudi Arabia, because more than 75 % of the men are working either directly or indirectly in the government including police, military, paramilitary, religious, mineral control, safety and security forces. Rest of the 25 % of the are either too old or too young do do any significant change to the set up which is very robost.
The punishment to those who oppose the rulers is either death or equivalent.. so no one dares in Saudi.. to oppose the kingdom, at least not in this millenium, meaning 1000 years..

Why would the majority of the Saudi Arabs who are either legal or illegal children of the Arab Kings and their subservient Lords would revolt against them?

opposition might come in the form of their own relatives, history has always shown results from unexpected quarters. so dont write of expected the unexpected from the disgruntled who are about to explode

The author is myopic, & I am not proud to be an India
by Bikramjit Banerjee on Jan 27, 2011 05:00 PM  | Hide replies

To be honest, I am ashamed to be an Indian, who basically can do a jack, only crib that their "chosen" leaders plunder the country and stash it in all the tax havens abroad. We should learn and be inspired from people in Tunisia, Egypt etc who have had the guts to rise up against their corrupt regimes !! It is better to have a Honest Anarchy than a False Stability for the Republic of India !!!!
As for the author, he seems to equate Islamism and J&K with the North African situation. His last sentence should have been expanded to include the entire country. It is not just a J&K problem we are facing.....

by Aadi Manav on Jan 27, 2011 04:55 PM  | Hide replies

I admire the guts of Sikhs in Kashmir who have bravely opposed their ouster from J&K and they are ready to fight the Seperatists at any costs.
I have no sympathy for the coward kashmiri pandits who have left their own state instead fo carrying weapons against the sepratists.
Such coward natur of hindus has divided this country. If hindus would have been brave, this country would have never been partitioned.

very true. if not for sikhs (Think of Maharaja Ranjit Singh), India would have not existed as we know it now ... it would be like 100 paksitans. it is such a shame that congressis backstabbed the sikhs in 1984. at that time it was only RSS who had guts to stand for sikhs.

A Hungry man is an angry man! All the world's great revolutions are the result of oppression of the rich over the poor!
The Rich & Famous, and the middlemen who suck our blood, should beware the wrath of the poor!
