Democracy is not sick, people are sick.
by manoj kumar on Jan 25, 2011 12:42 PM  | Hide replies

all you have to do is read the message borad here. that would tell you how sick are most of indian. they are full of ego maniac attitude. always arguing, debating, blaming, finding fault in others. with this attitude, no woner we live in so much chaose and dirt.
India need lot of self help guru and attitude trainer. who can train us in thinking positive. Trying to see other's point of view. learning to respect the needs and feelings of others. These issue are very crucial since india is most diversed society in world. Else keep arguing, blaming, fighting with each other. China will grab our neck some day.

Useless interview.
by Venkata Ramana on Jan 25, 2011 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

It is a waste of time to read this interview. Guha himself admits that he cannot prescribe anything to politicians and he is not qualified to to do more than write a work of history. We have so many history tales of past and our politicians are manipulating them to their advantage. Being a responsible writer he should exert his ideas on politicians (everybody knows that these are ruling the country) and make an impression on his point of opinion.

He is an armchair writer far removed from modern, practical daily politics of a country.Having grown in Congress Culture, these guys are fit for discussion in TV studios along with fellow leftists and pseudosecularists where they continue to critise those who don't agree with them.Even when Modi defeats them in elections, they continue with their accusations.Very few read their writings and hear them.

India is not modern
by Vivek Dev on Jan 25, 2011 12:16 PM  | Hide replies

India is not a modern nation. The title is wrong and misleading. A modern nation is one which treats all its citizens irrespective of class, religion, sect, sex etc equally under on common civil law. India has instituted system of discrimination under personal laws. This is against charter of human rights of the UN. In a very fundamental sense therefore India is nor a modern state. It is like saying Saudi Arabia is a modern country.

BAN
by parashar on Jan 25, 2011 12:14 PM

BAN all real estate activities of converting FARM LANDS into FARM houses and WEEKEND villas. Those farms produce food. Real estate is becoming like a cancer in India.

It is already engulged large tracts of agricultural land and forest area into real estate.

Unless we protest and fight this disease , it will eat away the country like a cancer
