The poem mentioned in the article is too good and sums everything. Why everyone ( including India ) hate China is because they are winners and all others are losers. So China just needs to keep doings its own thing and not worry about the barking dogs.

Looks like another strange theory.
Hello. The poem is outdated and one-sided, and has nothing to do with India - and seconndly, the poem doesnt talk about Chinese atrocities around the world. India is not the one that's barking. India is trying to reason whether it is stapled visa issue or border issue or Arunachal Pradesh.

Tibet. Taiwan. Hostile relations with border nations, especially with India. arming our neighbour. stapled visas. claims on indian states. to name just few.

Mohan, Tibet and Taiwan are their own and not the world. In that case Indians also do atrocities in Kashmir..They have never poked their nose into others affairs like the US.

I think you will kill your self with jealous. But jealous is good some time of achievement.....as China is jealous of US.
This is not a people to people relationship. The Chinese people are told by their government what to think of India. The Indian people distrust authority.
I see no future for the relationship between India and China as long as the communist party of China is in power.

Rinka you are wrong. In fact the Chinese people have high regard for Indians. You maybe right for the fact that the Chinese govt is wary of India and is using Pakistan as a tool to keep India in check. Incidentally it is Indians who are wary of China ( and not the Indian govt ). It could be because of the war we have had with them, which in fact was due to the blunder of Nehru.

First Visit China then talk.........Chines People like India and respect Indians who visit there. If India do not want to be friend of China then China is not going to loose any thing......but India may have to live with fear and tear....
India should take advantage of the situation fully and straighten up China.Reasons:-
1.It is mainly because of China more than US that Pakistan is able to show guts of standing against our mighty Motherland.China gave the nuclesr power, missile technology and supports whatever Pakistan does,as long as it is useful in containing India!!India should teach China a lesson with the help of west so that it thinks 10 times before it helps Pakistan, overtly or covertly. 2.Solve border and territorial issues with China decisively. After all we are not the minute country like East Asian countries and with them itself China has resolved most of the border disputes only becasue US and the west back all these countries against China.
If we can silence Pakistan[As without Chinese help they cant even bark as they are doing now] and show its place and solve border dispute with China, India can unabatedly grow to become the Super Power by 2050 at least.

Pakistan is China's tool of keeping India under control and busy, while China keeps marching forward..
so there is no way china will stop helping pakistan.. U.S also supports this to make India less dominant than China, and thus make India its biggest tool against China..

Agree. Further, there is no need for India to sing one-china song. Treat them with iron fist. Another thing. China is a coward nation. Fear is ruling their minds - they are afraid to give their people power. A powerless, subjugated people is headed by a govt without opposition.

How can you say 3rd richest country??????!!!!!!!:-P you have look at percapita income to get actual picture and not GDP. india is very low in percapita income
The problems I have with Mahboobani’s sketch however is that it makes the West into a monolith when in reality Europe wants to break free from US hostility towards China for eg – arms sales etc. Moreover, while the West might be demonizing China, China has made it easy to be demonized. Its actions in Tibet and Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia which lands it has irreversibly flooded with the Han people and on whom it has imposed its language and culture are not actions of a non-threatening peaceful nation. Similarly, its actions against Japan, Vietnam and India are not friendly gestures that these countries can dismiss as Western fabrications. The moves by China to soak up natural resources everywhere, to dam rivers that flow into India and Bangladesh for example are other examples of how China upsets countries and peoples everywhere.
He is very right about pointing out how well China is thinking about what it wants for itself and how well it falls back on its ancient thought and sagely political advice to deal with its national life and international problems. Unlike India and Indians who want to forget their culture and become Americans and Westerners!!! We in India in contrast speak in a thousand voices none of which is remotely convincing. Many of these voices show a remarkable lack of intellect and belong to people who are mired in and preoccupied with pettiness, small mindedness and mind-boggling corruption and know nothing of India’s heritage or history. How can any of these voices give a good direction to India?
1. China is not invincible. India did not employ air force when dealing with china in 1962. It is our Jo.kerlal Neg.ru who singularly defeated India, and not China.
2. There is no way China is going to win hearts of Indian people by doing its stapled visa nonsense and making claims on Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh and K'shmir.
India may 'look' inferior to China, and it may well be at this moment, but circumstances and Indian people will catapult India to top place.
Yesterday in Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi brought MoU singed by various corporate around the world worth Rs 15,00,000 CRORE.

Kabir, even if 10% of the MOUs materialise,it is still more than all Congress Govts have been able to attract in all their states put together!!Dont talk rubbish!!India is Shining because of NdA rule in centre in 1999-2004 and various BJP ruled states like Gujarat,Karnataka etc..
it's matter of time that the people revolt against their commie regime. It may happen before China occupies #1 economy status, what that happens it will be a global disruption. Secondly, we we complete with China or US on GDP growth, let's focus on real well distributed all-inclusive growth in education, health care, employment; without which no amount of GDP growth should make us proud. In fact if the disparity and imbalance growth like now continues, we can expect an disruptive unrest in India as well. Take care of people and the growth will happen automatically.

What is the problem there? Majority of people in China have no complaints against the Govt. Talk to your Chinese colleagues they'll tell the real story.
For that matter most of the Indians are unhappy with the govt.

he he, u look like a very innocent person. "people have no complains?" do u even know china is a communist government. Spies are deployed almost every corner. If you say anything against the government, you wont even know what will happen to you and your family!

Kabir you are wrong. I travel extensively to China. They are free to enjoy life to the fullest and have total freedom. Yes they do not have the " fredom" to criticize the govt worthlessly like how we are doing and they do not have the freedom to do strikes and break public property. If you call that freedom I think they will be happy not having it...
