Atleast marathas fought. Moron, Nizam was busy spoiling Telangana hindu girls. Hindu girls were picked up from the streets or fields at any time at the will of muslimm nobles and raped

Maharashtra facing
by Vivek Dev on Jan 14, 2011 07:50 AM

Now we have to fight de-marathisation of Maharashtra because of the huge influx from north, south, east. This will only aggravate over the coming years as Pak, Afghan, Bangladesh will expel their HIndu communities who will claim natural right to migrate to Mah. Also with West Bengal set to become part of BD, Bengalis will be migrating en masse. All these people will bring in their anti-Mah values with them.

LESSONS FROM THE LOST BATTLES
by keshav kumar on Jan 14, 2011 07:33 AM  | Hide replies

India today is facing a very dangerous and determined enemy in Pakistan.Pakistan's prime objective is to re-establish Muslim Rule in India. It has joined hands with China. By conceding part of J&K to China,it has allowed China to build a road into Pakistan aimed at securing supplies from China via this road.

Now China has also become another dangerous enemy for India by occupying Tibet by force.

India is now in the most dangerous location and security of India is greatly threatened.Hence,India needs to learn lesson from the lost battles of the past and take urgent steps to meet the challenge.

On the face of it,India needs to strengthen secure ties with Korea,Japan, Vietnam, Philipnes,Indonesia,Burma in the east, with U.S.A, UK,France and the EU in the west and with Australia and NZ in the South. In the North our ties with Russia are very important but the nearest north and the nearest west requre lot of attention.

Risk factors in all wars remain static hence lessons from these are of very vital importance. We always need most upto date weapons, higest training in tactics along with well trained army and the youth of the nation, secure relations with friends and high alertness to overcome the dangers immediately.

excellent reading between the lines...This is the need of hour than focussing on Caste, region and other trivial issues. One thing is crystal clear - "India ruled by Indians"

Kabul was captured within 50 years ...
by kuljit on Jan 14, 2011 06:52 AM

Ahmad Shah Abdali retreated and was defeated by Ranjit Singh whose victorious army marched into Kabul in 1812. Thousands of Afghans in Peshawar, Kandahar, Jalalabad and NWFP embraced Sikhism. Instead of beheading the defeated Afghan king Ranjit Singh took his most valuable posession - the Kohinoor and brought it back to India.
Its about time India makes serious effort and get the Kohinoor back from the British.

A fine research piece
by gs priv on Jan 14, 2011 03:59 AM

The author deserves credit for his objective assessment and candor in highlighting what really went wrong - things that are usually whitewashed in government sponsored publications. More such objective research into Indian history is very welcome.

Parading around in Lathis and Shorts will not help.

Modernize, Modernize, Mobilize using scientific approaches and drop your idiotic pacifism.

India DOES NOT NEED any more pacifists and ahimsawadis.

India needs strategists and soldiers with tactics who are trained to kill millions.

Act brutally ! Close your hearts to pity !
Make Brutality your first and foremost habit !

"The freedom that Indians lost was only regained in 1947"
The concept of a united India did not exist until 1857. What freedoms did Indians enjoy before 1947? We were the slaves of every damn monarch since civilisation started. We got our freedom only after 1947. The author is a complete moron.

spot on. Looking at the first map, had it not been for the British, modern day india was sure to have been disintegrated into atleast 10 countries by 1947 and possible thrice as many by now. MODERN DAY INdiA WOULD NOT HAVE EXISTED HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE BRITISH WHO TOOK AWAY THE MONARCHY. AND YOU CAN IMAGINE KNOWING THE INDIAN CULTURE THE WAY WE KNOW NOW, HOW THE TYPICAL INDIAN MONARCH IN THE LATE 1900S WOULD HAVE TREATED THE SUBJECTS.. WORSE THAN THE DUST ON THE FEET

mental. since 10 centurey muslims ruled Delhi and since 16 cnetury to 18 cuntury Mughals ruled majority of the land, though marathis continued to destro their power and expended their land continuously ( Mughls have practically dominated for 200 yeras) . Still Indian remained HIndu. So understand if Britishes have not come Mulims would have lost power to Marthis and there is not question of Islamm dominateing this land. It took 2000 yeaus for muslims to convert hudus in Pak. Success for them in Pak can not be a success for them In major india. The case of pak is a battle loos and the question of Total iNdia is war win for HIndus. WE lost pak for our disunity. Now we have strong Hindu forces which can not be conquered by any force on earth. The loss of pak and Bangladesh is a lesson for us that we shoud be ever unidted inspite of our curse that we have many differences. But there is a silver line in diversity. Peple who live in diversity would be more wiser ( this you will see in future). China is the only country do develop faster than us now and it will end in a decade and we will be the fastest developing country in the next century. China develops with 10 times more foreign investment than us. We develop mostly indegeniously. who is more efficinet?

Incorrect -
The concept of India is as old as can be. Look at Mahabharta - look at Ramayana - look at the maps of those times - what is the region the stories are based on - the bharat has existed since time immemorial

In 8th-9th century Adi Shankracharya set up 4 mathas in the four corners of the country, these exist even today. Look at the path trodden by saints of various hues - the northern saints came to the south on piligrimages and the southern went to the north.
There has been a consistent thread since history. That British created India is well, a British invention.

The Marathas had definitely forgotten about crafty Shivaji Maratha .
Their main mistake was what they did with the Jatts after abadali and the mougals were rioted when abdhali tried to take over a couple of years back .That time abdali escaped with his life .In that war after roiting the mugals and abdali forces they surrounded Delhi .The jats who were mainly Sikhs wanted the marathas to allow them to plunder and loot Delhi .The marathas disagreed .After that the Sikhs broke away from the marathas and never ever trusted the marathas again .And as time went by their difference increased .
