Why aren’t men speaking up about abuse of marriage laws. Maintenace laws are so outdated. I don’t even understand how certain things like alimony are still payable in the 21st century, where women have equal working opportunities. .Why does a man have to continue paying his wife after marriage when she does not have any continuing obligation? Why is it that only women are entitled to marital benefits forever and not men? Is this not discrimination and inequality? Other laws like child custody, dowry act, DV act, etc are also entire woman centric. No talks about equality then eh?
These women who gathered and spoken about Muslim women do not know any thing about the rights given to women in Islam,they even do not about islam,they must read about Islam then speak.
The people of Arabic countries were slave traders and their practices involved exchanging wives whenever new female in a shipment was more attractive. The idea of 4 wives is of limited liability to max. 4 as wives . So these anonymous veiled women would be quietly bought & sold or exchanged without any hindrance from neighbourhood.
So much talk about modesty but the Arabs are neck deep into belly dancing - why such enjoying is not being freely allowed to Indian muslim girls?
Today's muslim women should adopt modern dress codes and build mature & complete friendships in society as per the times to safeguard & fully enjoy own human rights.
Most of the comments are not objetive, it is basically inspired with Hate of Muslims and their culture. Most of the hatred is product of daily dose in shakhas.

Most of the buul-crap Islamist ideologues and apologists are posting, is due to lack of logical reasoning and an inability to convince sane people that Islam treats it women wonderfully! See its adherents follow or advocate the practice of plural marriage, forced marriage, female circumcision, compulsory veiling of women, and censorship of non-Muslim magazines and media. Then what are these people fighting against? Radical Islamic beliefs that condones public stoning, pours acid in the faces of Muslim teachers & schoolgirls who want a better future and intimidation and violence. Face it, that Islam makes huge claims to be the last and final word of God and advocates practices like plural marriage, compulsory veiling of women, horrific punishments under Sharia, promotes gender inequality, etc which are against the modern liberal values that most democratic & tolerant societies accept. The wondrous treatment given to Shah Bano,Imrana, GUdiya, etc by the clergy really make a thrilling account of the wonderful traits of Islamist faith. Saw the women protesting the law justifying marital rape in Afghanistan recently or the Deobandi fatwas against women working? Dont post bull-crap about how the rights of Muslim women are enshrined in Islam, as they are blatantly discriminatory towards women! .
