Dr Parmar
KUDOS for MEA-evacuation operation plan of India
by Dr Parmar on Mar 02, 2011 09:04 PM

GOI-MEA is doing commendable job in control room. When ever we speak from Libya, instantly attended and responded well at any time. I spoke on 28th.February at late night from Libya, I was responded well by the personnel on duty. I registered with 1138 and urged to make as early as possible way to evacuate people-doctors, nurses, pharmacists, English teachers, computer experts...as many 170 people and other industry workers of ISPAT etc. to the tune to some total 700 people from MISURATA TOWN of LIBYA. Immediately operation was taken up as an emergency plan by MEA-India. Today we received message from Mr.Rajiv Mishra from Malta that one ship is to come to Misurata town of Libya to evacuate us.
We all are overwhelmed by this gesture. Not only GOI has done praiseworthy job by evacuating people from far Tunisia-Libya border and Egypt-Libya border and sent them with emergency exit certificate in lieu of pass port. Three flights per day for ten days, three naval ships, three commercial ships.....such a huge operation for evacuation of 18000 stranded Indian people in Libya all at FREE of charge.
I AM PROUD TO BE CITIZEN OF SUCH A COUNTRY NAMED INDIAN.

I think you are very much impressed with the picture of Col. Gadaffi. After looking his photo in electronic media, only people like you will wish to visit Libya.

free evacuation why????
by Krishna iyer on Feb 26, 2011 11:17 AM  | Hide replies

While our sympathies are with the suffering , why should they run away and avoid being part of that country's person. While those who have migrated have mostly economic reasons and earn lot none of them deserve doles like this. Almost all of them can pay.
In case of any unrest against indians then and then only we need to airlift them at their cost. After all it is not the ministers funds ,but the tax payers money that is used.Such decision makers have hearts in the head brain (if there)in the thorax.....

NRI remittance is one of largest source of dollar funds for India. It also helps in maintaining INR value with respect to other currencies.DO not write anything for the heck of it. They are Still Non Resident INDIAN.It is a national responsibility to get them back.It is also mark of a developing and powerful nation.

Dear,
Indian govt has arranged for their rescue from the Libya is gud enough (that is what the govt is supozed to do for its nationals even NRI's).Now why cannt the people being resucued pay for their coming back to india????? If not the excess money than atleast they should pay the normal fare so that we citizens of India who are not "NRI " can preserve the taxpayers money for the growth / development of India so that no more people feel to become NRI????? and over Indian Airline or the ships(in this case naval ships) company doesnt have to incurr more losses

well said . I am NRI and I love India soa llmy money coes back to India ,my motherland. It does not happen with P..a..k..i..n as they do ahve any love left there. Even if you want these guys to pay for travel ,do it later , but first evacuate them . Money matters acn be resolved. Nobody asking freebies , but safety only .
