Subbu, this isn't about muslims fighting over anything... this is more about these long oppressed citizens of these countries demanding basic rights and democracy. think of it as something like the French Revolution, except that it is happening now. It is long overdue. These dictators were making merry because they were at good terms with the west mostly because of oil, but the citizens have decided that they have had enough.

This is the fallout of an eccentric dictator's rule of oppressing the country's citizens. Muammar Gaddafi should have examined his head some decades ago. He is an animal in a human form. He staunchly supported Pakistan during Indo-Pak war and close friend of Gen.Yahya Khan. He was spitting venom on Bangladesh when it was liberated in Dec' 1970. He honoured and rewarded the killers of Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rahman, the first Prime minister of Bangladesh. In his one and only apperance in the UN General Assembly, he vehemently opposed Indias seat in the Security Council. He sent Arab guerillas to kill Israeli athletes at Munich Olympics and made it a scene of death and terror. He ensured that all his political opponents are killed. How long people will tolerate this type of an "animal"?

QADAFFFI HAS GONE MAD - UN INTERVENTION IS NEEDED
by jamsheed abumohammed on Feb 26, 2011 06:53 AM  | Hide replies

The world welcomes the US move to impose sanction against Libya for it violated human rights when its militia fired on the peaceful protestors. UN is mulling military intervention with Security Council slated to meet soon to take stock of the situation. Col. Qadaffi has gone mad along with his sons. They have declared that they would fight and die in Libya. Whether they would fight is not sure but what is sure that they would die in Libya soon. People and their protest is relentless with so many regions falling to them. Qadaffi militia is trying desperately to hold on to Tripoli. In 42 years, this is the first time that such an event is happening against Qadaffi. He is now trying to divert world attention when he in his address called the protestors the followers of Osma bin laden. It was an attempt to win over the West. But the world is watching the events and nothing of the sort is evident. It is a peoples' movement and spontaneous one taking cue from the events in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain and Algiers. Now it is the turn of people of Iran, Gulf countries, Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to teach these Kings, Sheikhs, Aamirs and despots a lesson and tell them it is time for them to leave honourably or else the peoples' power would kick them out. If the blood-bath continues in Libya, West should not hesitate to intervene militarily to take control of the oil fields, which is a cause of worry. The world economy would go to ruins, if like Saddam,Col.Qadaffi burns fields.
